Gupta, to me, is at her best, for instance, while systematically detailing her simple, nuanced suggestions--of how to unwrap one's eventually limiting, culture plus society-conditioned intrapersonal and interpersonal practices. To face and function from one's most empowered, fulfilling personal position in life. - N Chandni K
As Preeti's editor for this book, I had the opportunity to both read and deeply peruse the content, which I found very comprehensive for those on a spiritual path. This is a manual we all need to keep handy to refer to again and again. - C.L. Draughon

A truly wonderful book and a map to figuring out the machination of your own mind and thoughts. Particularly useful in an increasingly detached world, where your relationship with yourself is of most importance. - Akac
Preeti's way of writing is so easy and impeccable, which makes it light on the eyes and the mind. I suggest a warm tea and some acoustic music, and you are all set for a night in, after which you would have learned so much about yourself - Akash Chadha

About the Author
Preeti, A Chartered Accountant and ex-banker chose to pursue teaching English (www.vocaboom.in) out of love for the language and for children. Preeti says in the book, " Shoot yourself out of this body-vehicle, dear consciousnesses, and sit at a distance, maybe on the moon, for a while." and yes that does work to help refocus on the essential 'you' .
Happy reading and Exploring your inner voice!
Gupta, Preeti. YOUR SAILBOAT NEEDS NO ENGINE: A Simple Philosophy on How to Find Your Life's Purpose . Kindle Edition.
Through small chapters (that make the content easier to absorb because there is so much to think about!), the author takes us to our core and helps us to align ourselves to the universe.
And a great bonus: a detailled agenda to spend a week-end on our own doing the thinking and making the shift.
I particularly enjoyed the lessons as homework. I think that our whole lives are spent putting together a toolkit to become healthy and successful people. This book definitely has a place in my toolbox!
I highly recommend reading this book, slowly, and taking the time to absorb the golden nuggets inside.
Quotes like, "Before love comes understanding. In between understanding and love comes appreciation." stick with you and you can feel their intention working on your inner world. There is so much packed in this book it's hard to imagine that there isn't something in it for everyone. If you are looking to expand your soul connection and view the world from a perspective of Love, Joy and Hope than this book is for you, for sure. I have to share another quote that stuck with me to end this review, "As the night gives way to the light, so silence welcomes sound, sleep welcomes awakening, and hopelessness welcomes the first glimmer of the possibility of joy.” Thank you Preeti for such a wonderful contribution!
"Every chapter reminds you that your sailboat (your soul-self), needs no engine (external influences) and is self-propelled" - Gupta, Preeti
The author uses the your sailboat as a metaphor for your soul-self, for me this resonates very strongly as I spend most of my day in the ocean. And I whole heartedly feel a very strong connection between being on the water and the direct energy my soul receives.
The author has broken the book into three sections:
• SECTION 1 THE SOUL-SELF
• SECTION 2 YOUR SAILBOAT NEEDS NO ENGINE
• SECTION 3 MY WEEKEND WORKSHOP THE BRIDGE BACK TO MY SOUL-SELF
Section 1 - introduces you to your soul self and brings to your attention some factors that can distance you from connecting with you soul-self and operating on a higher level.
Section 2 - is slightly more complicated and introduces some more advanced levels of understanding, essential knowledge to help pave your path of happiness and truth.
Section 3 - the author has created a self analysis workshop, with guided steps and questions to help you put the concepts and ideas within this book into practice. I still haven't had the chance to do the workshop but I am really looking forward to delving deeper.
A great and powerful read.
