Some of the tales that he presents in this book are pretty much unique to the life of diplomat and more specifically to the author. Be it his dealings with Indira Gandhi, Moraji Desai and the likes of other politicians, his engagements with foreign dignitaries, and his role played in the NAM and CHOGM, this book has it all covered.
I must say that not all diplomats get the exposure and opportunity to have an illustrious career and being born and married into a family of influential did help him in shape up his career trajectory.
Note: having read a few other memoirs/diaries etc, I have modified my rating to 4 stars (8/1/16)
