Five related deaths cause a police investigator a headache, especially as she’s involved with a family member who is related to two of the victims. Adding the further complication of discovering her boyfriend can also be a cougar is fun. There’s a mystery yet to be solved, of who can control the sheriff’s department. So although there’s plenty of plot in this series beginning, there’s clearly a lot more to come.

It's never clear WHO was untamed in this: The hero, the heroine, the side characters, who I think aren't going to be side characters for long. I shiver at the open door scenes, they're hot! I rooted hard for the hero & the heroine to finally get sorted and I'm glad that one obstacle for them has been resolved, but hot damn, the others? Read it to find out what!

I'm eagerly awaiting BOLD now; which is too far away! But, wait I must!

Good mystery, but cliffhanger

Delta James' newest series is heavy on the mystery, sex, and as usual, arrogant, demanding alpha males. Both Untamed and Determined end on cliffhangers, so if you are not a fan, you might want to wait until the entire series is complete. Overall, I enjoyed this story. Cade isn't as arrogantly demanding as many of James' other males leads, but he often does take choices away from Trey. While he "allows" her to continue her career, he is overly protective and doesn't always treat her like the capable woman she is. I do wish Trey would have stood up to Cade more often, but like most of the female characters that James' writes, she is too often overcome with lust.

A really good and interesting story overall, but ridiculous with the amount of sex scenes (I started skimming over them after the 4th - 5th one). Example - Trey encounters a life and death situation while finding out about Cade's true nature, and they immediately have wild sex out on the mesa! Really??? A lead investigator/Former FBI agent would NOT act this way! A bit more realism in reference to relationships would be great! Especially a character finding out her man is an animal shifter!
