Mangte Chungneijang Mary Kom, born in 1983, is an Indian boxer.
The first and only woman boxer to have won a medal in each of the six world championships, she has been the recipient of several prestigious awards like the Padma Bhushan, the Arjuna Award, the Padma Shri and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, to name a few. In addition to winning numerous medals at different boxing championships all over the world, she also won the bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Since 2007, Mary has been teaching the sport of boxing for free to underprivileged children. She is married to Onler Kom and they have twin boys named Khupneivar and Rechungvar. Popularly called Magnificent Mary, she serves as a source of inspiration and motivation for countless women.
