The product that I received (3 days ago) was Vertrag (the previous version, NOT Vertrag 2.0, & NOT bluetooth). Which is ok by me, as I liked the boxy design of this version better than the angulated look of the 2.0 version. My only complaint is that they charged me almost the same price as the current 2.0 version (Rs 7200 vs Rs7599 listed). Whereas the Swans D1010 MkII is selling for Rs2000 less than D1010 MkIV.
I also feel that Bajaao.com have tried to conceal the true MRP & date of manufacture, as the sticker of the authorized Indian distributor Overclockers Zone has been partially removed, so that I cannot see the date of import or price printed on the sticker.
The box states that the1 year international warranty can be extended to 3 years for free by registering the product on the Thonet and Vander website. No mention of this fact is made either on Bajaao.com, or on Amazon.in. So I spent an additional Rs1100 to buy a 2 year 'premium' warranty from Bajaao.com.
The Thonet & Vander website lists the diameter of the woofer as 4 inches, when in fact it is 3.5 inches (can be easily verified using a ruler). This is blatant FALSE ADVERTISING.
The speakers sound good, way better than a cheap Rs1500 2.1 system.
If you are planning to purchase these for home studio monitoring, I think they will do ok for beginners. The response seems reasonably flat (but I am no expert). These are NOT real STUDIO monitors.

This is the second time that I buy Thonet & Vander products. In the past, I bought a Fien 2.1 and I was AMAZED of the quality of the speakers: even if the weren't very powerful (but powerful enough for a normal apartment living), I could set the volume in the highest position and even there there wasn't any distortion at all. In that sense, better than Edifier speakers.
This product is even better: I don't miss at all the subwoofer (after all, if you check the specs, no really I have TWO subwoofers -compare the woofer size and frequencies). The power is great and the definition of the sound is amazing.
Everything comes in wood and very robust.
And, obviously, let's not forget the price: they are amazingly cheap.
Just two minor things to say: the controls are in the back and is a little bit annoying to equalize and change the volume. I was about to buy the KURBIS model, with more WATTS and better materials, but I finally chose this model, but the KURBIS model has the controls on one side, which is more comfortable.
The second thing, a very small one, is the length of the cords: I need some extra cables to be able to put each speaker at one side of a normal couch. The power cord and the RCA - miniPlug cord are also very short.
But, as I said, in general, GREAT product. Just listen the sound and you'll be more than satisfied.
I had already figured on around $100 for some decent speakers (we're not audiophiles, I just wanted sound with some depth to it), and the reviews on these looked perfect. Got them in two days with Prime, had them setup in less than 10 minutes, and I've been very happy since.
-Gorgeous wood. I was surprised by the heft these had, they feel very solid.
-Straightforward wiring. One speaker has all of the ports and controls, the other just connects to that with basic wires, then you can use 3.5 or composite cables (all included).
-Nice controls. We have all of the knobs around the halfway point, which is perfect for standard viewing. With the volume all the way up, the TV only needed to be set to about 5, which made it hard to fine-tune. At half, we can keep it around 15-20.
Cons: None so far.
I don't think I could have found better for the money. My father-in-law thought they seemed pretty decent as well, and he's heavily into music production. I'll be sure to update if I have any issues, but I expect these to last me a good while.
Other caveat is that I had to buy a ground-loop noise isolator to use it with my tv, there was heavy distortion and static when using the bass and treble tone dials above the lowest setting.
They state for warranty you have to register on their website; I can see no way to do so after some searching, and I can't find a customer support portal or contact details.
