Product Description

A journey to the end of thought An empty box within an empty box There is no truth The robot is dreaming This Dog Barking chronicles the story of U.G. Krishnamurti, the Cosmic Naxalite, from his troubled childhood to his disillusionment with many of the leading spiritual teachers of the twentieth century and his catastrophic personal life. In 1967, UG underwent a series of biological mutations that left him in the natural state functioning without the interference of thought. With no fixed address, no followers and no organization, UG spent the next thirty years travelling the world with an uncompromising message: that mind is a myth and the human condition should be demystified and de-psychologized and viewed in purely physiological terms. Candid and clear-eyed, this is a profoundly thought-provoking biography of one of the most radical philosophers of our age.

About the Author

Nicolas C. Grey grew up in Brighton on the south coast of England, and having left both school and home at sixteen, is a self-taught artist. Working under the name Dead Nic in the 1990s, he was involved in the underground comix scene, producing the legendary Watermelon comic. Nic lives and works in Cambodia and is represented by Dana Langlois of JGallery, Phnom Penh. James Farley was born in the UK, studied English Literature at the University of Oxford and has been a children's social worker for the past twenty-five years. As an unsuccessful writer, his previous works include a stage adaptation of The Radiance of the King by Camara Laye (never performed), Those Crazy Gurus (unpublished) and The Sand Pit, a novel about a drug-smuggling airhostess in a Saudi Arabian prison (unfinished). James lives with his wife and son in Scotland.
