I spent $9.50 to get 3 lids, including shipping.
Three other people at work have the same one and they all love it as well.
One of my coworkers had the little metal clip on the lid button break, though, so it's not leak-proof.
I've dropped mine a few times by accident and it's held up (thankfully).
A couple minor cons:
The bottle came scratched on the side - just cosmetic, though. (Attached a photo of that)
The number dial on the cap is a bit annoying if you actually want to use it; you need to remember to turn it while the cap is off/it can't be adjusted with it on.
Note: There is a rubber gasket in the lid that you can remove and clean. My friend's mom has the same bottle and she had evidently never cleaned it and there was mold there. I'm adding a photo of it. There's also a little rubber piece at the top of the lid that can be removed for cleaning as well.
Excellent design overall
The button is easily depressed in the hand you're holding it making it easy to get a drink one handed
The cap completely covers the spout and closes with a satisfying click so you're assured it's closed.
The cap and spout combine into a wonderful and functional design. The cap has a plug that goes into the spout and also completely covers the
spout's opening and surrounding area. When you take a drink, there is no liquid that escapes around your mouth or around the opening. Unlike
many other water bottles I've tried that should have had this figured out (lookin' at you Hydroflask) this is one of the best design's I've seen.
While I have not had this problem personally, my s/o has gone through a few of these due to some unlucky drops. Because the mold meets
right at the bottom center of the water bottle, a nasty drop, where seemingly the water bottle is intact, will actually have a hole at the bottom
center point rendering the whole water bottle unusable. I've been lucky enough to avoid this happening to me even though I've dropped mine
on several occasions but I've seen it enough to want to put this down as a con.
There is a dial to count how many bottles of water or liquid you had to drink. The dial can be hard to turn and has never turned smoothly for
me. I am both happy and sad about this. On one hand, it means I'm confident it won't ever move on its own. On the other, it's a pain to move.
But this is really a secondary function of the water bottle. That they even made an attempt is a point in their favor. Only that they could have
done a better job of it.
The piece of metal that flips around the cap's button really doesn't do much. Also, because it's made of only slightly better quality than the
crappy metal keyrings the dealer puts your keys on when you take your car in, this will be one of the first things to "break". Improving on its
design would be nice. But this in no way breaks the product so it's just kind of a head scratcher.
As previously mentioned, this is my absolute favorite water bottle thus far. I've tried several different kinds and I keep coming back to
this one. I only wish Thermos would consider modifying the mold a bit to make this thing less susceptible to drops. Maybe add a second
plastic ring below this one to help deaden the blow to this part. Still, if you're looking for a water bottle you need look no further. Buy this
one and you'll be happy.
The bottles themselves are great but with the lifespan we will be purchasing a different brand of bottle next time.
