O teri, produced by Atul Agnihotri and Alvira Khan and directed by Umesh Bhishit is a Hindi comedy film that features Pulkit Samrat, a new comer, Bilal Amrohi, Sarah-Jane Dias, Anupam Kher and Mandira Bedi. The characters, Prantabh Pratab or PP played by Pulkit Samrat and Anand Ishwaram Devdutt Subramanium a.k.a AIDS played by Bilal Amrohi, are two Delhi-based journalists who come across a huge scam. In the quest of proving their caliber to their boss (Sarah-Jane Dias), the two journalists get a break through when they find a dead body in their car. The scam reasoned behind a bridge-collapse is decoded when a CD which exposes a major scam involving a murky politician (Anupam Kher) falls in their hands.
The two journalist friends take their boss very seriously as they are belittled and humiliated by her a lot. The only way they can resurge their careers is by unearthing the scam and bringing it into the public domain.
With his directorial debut, Umesh Bhishit tries to portray real life incidents in the movie. He throws light on the corruption that prevails amongst the top-ranked leaders and bureaucrats, the builder-politician nexus and the indifference and negligence by the authority. The movie takes references from real events and occurrences of recent past. All these have been shown sarcastically giving it a touch of comedy.
The plot of the movie according to reviewers resembles the cult classic Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. O Teri by Umesh Bhishit reminds that justice is always blind, the common man is dumb and the government is always deaf to public's complaints. Amusing anecdotes, glitzy songs and foot-tapping music make this movie a typical Bollywood masala entertainer.
O teri was released in 2014 by Reel Life Productions in VCD format. It has U/A rating and a run time of 107 minutes.
