Understanding Tech is hard and time-consuming for people without a coding background.
Tech is one of the most complex topics for those without a technical background. But at the same time, understanding tech is quite important.
Anyone working with software developers will find it hard to connect and communicate if they don't understand tech. There are other benefits to understanding tech too. You can build empathy for the development team working day and night with you. This creates mutual trust and respect, which makes it easy to work and get work done. Having tech understanding also helps in building your confidence as a PM.
So it is no wonder that all the product leaders and CEOs of tech companies understand tech very well, even if they didn't have a degree in Computer Science or a background in coding. Excelling on the job requires them to do it.
There are so many good reasons for learning tech, but not every PM does that. The reason is that it's hard to learn tech on your own. There aren't many resources designed for PMs to understand tech. In the absence of proper guidance and resources, it takes years of study to build an understanding.
And that's why I wrote this book. The goal of the book is to help you get to a place that takes years to reach.

So, if you look at the details of this book, it explains in itself that this literally is "tech simplified" and is written at a very basic level to build your tech foundation necessary for product management.
I am a PM without a CS degree or any major background in tech. During my early Product days in my stint as an APM, I found it really hard and struggled sometimes to understand what exactly a product was from a tech point of view, especially when I used to be in meetings and stand ups with engineers in the company. And as a PM it is necessary to have some basic knowledge of tech stack, system design or architecture so that you at least understand the terms that engineers throw around. And that is very necessary for a PM as he/she has to establish a trust between himself and the engineering team. Hence, I always went back and looked for books, resources online, however most of the stuff out there has always been of high level. Although you get an idea but it becomes difficult to get a clear grasp.
It's like you want to learn driving but the only driving instructors out there are from Formula One drivers.
This is what this book solves. It helps you learn the basics. Not master them but at least helps build a platform to build a solid foundation for your tech understanding. Everything is explained exactly how it should be to someone like me. I am really glad I came across this book because it has now given me the tools to start a strong foundation for my tech knowledge required in product management.
If you want to be a Formula One driver, you gotta first know how to at least drive or at understand how a vehicle works/functions.
Kudos to the writer Mr. Deepak Singh. Hoping that you will release more books on System Design and Architecture in this similar writing style.

Deepak’s book just does that job- To summarise ; it shortens learning curve if your objective is to learn just basics on technology.
As per me, this book would help
- if you are a PM who has recently changed domain or is planning to switch to Tech domains.
- Entrepreneurs / Product managers/ Project Managers who have to talk to technical teams but may not have a hands-on technical background. (This book explains in simple language - computers, networking, app development, APIs , Cloud computing, DevOps.. few more )
- People looking for a simple single source to know advances in technology that are helping the digital transformation of various industries.
Hope this helps
Happy Learning.
Simplifying any concept is not easy. To do this, you should know the concept in and out. The book is able to achieve the task of simplifying tech concepts. To do so, parallels have been drawn from real world examples. The beginners must take the advantage of this book. This book makes solid foundation which otherwise would take lot of time and effort. This solid foundation can be leveraged to develop further on these topics.
One more thing, the print quality is very good which is normallynot the case in tech books. It is pleasure to read it.

Recommended it on my social media, and had several people reaching out asking about it. Sadly, most of my friends were unable to but it (as it is only available in some countries / no ebooks / not in traditional bookstores). Ended up ordering 3 more copies on Amazon.sg in Singapore and shipping it to my teammates in Indonesia.
