I was feeling anxious last night and decided to pick up this book I recently bought. Ruskin Bond books have always been my stress buster. I started reading the first chapter and that was that I finished it one sitting (I was lying in bed with the book). Those illustrations seemed like a perfect fit for the stories and intrigued me to explore them for a minute or so, I just wish they were colored.

Coming to the book, consists of 16 short stories and they all have to learn in the end. They might seem simple and generic but every one of them has its charm to it. One can apply them in daily life to achieve a sense of belonging in this world.

If you like reading simple books this is the one for you ♥️

5.0 out of 5 stars Tales Did Reach Our Heart!
Reviewed in India 🇮🇳 on 25 July 2021
Ruskin Bond is a friend for many readers, a friend who gifts us words. Beautiful words of wisdom and deep observations from a simple world. People, animals, things and incidents that might appear mundane to the majority appeal to him and therefore us. His latest book called 'Tales From My Heart' published by Red Panda is a collection of 16 anecdotes and reflections through his life, the remarkable part is the attention to the details in the incidents despite them having occurred decades ago. The illustrations by Sumouli Dutta are endearing and paint a perfect picture.

One wouldn't be surprised if some of them call it a children's book, for its simplicity and shortness. There is a blessed ingenuousness in his writing. The way he weaves his memories with humour and foresight he makes the reader develop a divine and a personal connection, and this only a seasoned Bond reader will understand. These tales did reach our heart!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful book.. ❤❤
Reviewed in India 🇮🇳 on 25 July 2021
I got this book before the official release date from Amazon India. Today I had finished my reading. Ah how beautiful book it is.But there is no single imaginary story. This book is all about Bond's point of view about life. How he looks his life since his childhood, he shared here.Sometimes very little things become extraordinary if there is a vision to see the beauty. It takes a mind to understand that sometimes there is a greatness hidden in the most trivial things. Again, an ordinary person teaches an ordinary work but in the meantime we can get a valuable lesson of life from him. This kind of small valuable thing he told in this book. I think everyone who loves to read a book should read it at least once.
