Author - B. Patrick Bruce
Rating - ⭐⭐⭐⭐.4/5
"Timestamped" by B. Patrick Bruce is the first book in the "Postmarked Yesteryear" series.
The book is a wonderful blend of two genres- supernatural and fantasy, a wonderful treat for those readers who enjoy reading such genres because I definitely did!
The story revolves around Rebecca Renford- a 14 year old female protagonist, who after her granny and father's tragedic death and few more incidents, discovers that she is a time corrector who can go back in time whenever she wants to help rewrite historical faults.
"Timestamped" is captivating. I really liked how Rebecca went on a mission that bridges time, how her family's past wrongdoings ruined their present and how she was to travel back!
The story started with a terrified scene which provoked me to know more in depth, so I read it further.
Rebecca is one potential character- fearless, determined and strong. But will she be able to find everything on her own through an unknown path with awaiting dangers?
"Timestamped" is a unique book with family secrets, small town characters, unexpected plot twist, courage, mystery, spiritual information scientific facts and an inherited mansion.
The plot is a bit slow paced but the narration is mind blowing. Cover is attractive and the title is promising. *Let's see what book-2 comes up with*

A new world is created by blending past and present. The ability to travel back and forth in time does not come without responsibility. Becca is gifted and she must fulfill her destiny. She is fearless and determined. But she has to find everything on her own. Even the ability for time correction comes at her without any clue. This creates a sense of mystery and thriller. Becca's journey is through an unknown path with awaiting dangers that can possibly threaten her life. The only thing that helps her in this journey is her intelligence and attitude.
One of the striking features of this book other than this unique plot is the prologue. A horrible crime is introduced right away on the first page itself. Because of that unusual beginning, I was so eager to connect this incident with the plot. But the author carefully delayed it and that incident is re-introduced only after the time was ripe.
The story is slow-paced at the beginning because the author took the time to introduce the background and characters. But once the main theme is uncovered, it quickly regains its pace. Then the whole story is like an unending maze, opening new doors one after another and giving new dimensions to the story.
Definitely, this is a masterpiece and I'm eagerly waiting to read the next installment in this series.

Haunted by the loss of father and grandmother, fourteen-year-old Rebecca Renford finds herself on a mission that bridges time; one where she is to seek vengeance and closure by correcting the wrongs of the past that have so tragically upended her life and destroyed her family.
As captivating as the stroyline is, it is the depth with which author Bruce has crafted the characters that ought to cement Timestamped into the upper sales rankings and top the lists of reader favourites. Rebecca in particular stands out as one you will remember, but the uniqueness of characters such as the android historian, the Continuant, round out the cast and supernatural elements with just the right touch of sci-fi.
This tale of secrets and interdimensional battle with evil takes readers on a journey of fantasy and family that is as stuffed with twists and turns as it is smoothly written and relevant to modern life. Readers who are fans of some of the big-name novels in YA fantasy will enjoy how Timestamped successfully blends familiar themes with believable characters and a plot that is as original as it is entrancing.
Timestamped will pull you in and leave you thirsty for more of this face-paced, action-packed series.
Timestampted starts out with a bang (literally) and then alternates between the present and the 1900s as Rebecca (Becca) unravels the mysteries of her grandmother’s secret book of postcards that she finds in the attic. In a quest to put right something that happened with her relatives long ago, she is also changing the course of events in the present.
The writing is crisp and engaging and the end of each chapter always propelled me into the next. There is a lot of spiritual (not religious) and scientific information explained to Becca by Evangeline, as she goes on her quest.
I don’t wish to say much more about the plot, characters, or events, because I don’t want to give anything away. Suffice it to say, that this was an enjoyable, enlightening, and entertaining coming-of-age story with a lot of excellent twists and turns along the way.
I highly recommend anyone interested in reading a great story to go and purchase this book. I am proud to have added it to my elaborate library book collection. Can't wait for another one to come out.
