The blurb portion of the book is compactly written and highlighting the core substance of the story. “In a nation that reveres women as goddesses of wealth, knowledge, power and infinite energy, there are a few who have gone on to prove why. Not only have they carved a niche for their talent, but have also inspired and empowered many others in the process.
This book brings forth the stories of twenty women entrepreneurs who have struck a perfect personal-professional harmony, and a chord with their immediate consumers. Their innovative ventures encompass a varied range of services – from supporting victims of acid attacks, to providing free skin care solutions; from online retail of lingerie, handmade bags and fashion accessories, to eco-friendly products of everyday utility; from pet care products, to quirky merchandise; from empowering folk artists, to providing clinical assistance to those going through tough times; from image consulting to house hunting; from arty solutions, to innovative marketing and corporate communication; from creating happy readers to making religious ceremonies simpler – these entrepreneurs have opened avenues formerly unexplored. Superwomen is an interesting journey of how they played all their roles to perfection, aligning their families with their ambitions, showing the world their true mettle.”
The front of the book shows picture of a woman and the things she handles along with work. If I need to justify this according to content, then of course it is appropriately designed.
After reading the book, I can say that no other title can be more apt for this book than this.
The plot of the novel is breathtakingly penned down I must say. Since it is based on numerous true events, and real experiences of the life, so the significance of the encounters that are inside the book is more to be concentrated on. There are numerous instances where author left you in aww that you are not alone in the world, there are many more like you, you just have to push your limits. The plot has the power to captivate the mind of any young dreamer. The hard work of the author ‘Prachi Garg’ is clearly visible through the plot.
It encapsulates the stories of twenty women entrepreneurs who have struck a perfect personal-professional harmony, and a chord with their immediate consumers. The story shows how they broke the conventions of society to start something of their own. There Is no doubt that in order to be successful, you need a continuous support from someone. All those women have some support in their life, some has wonderful husband, some has super parent who always believe in their daughter. It is not always that your parent will support you in every decision, some had to fight with their parent to prove their dream venture’s ideas right. It is not that all the entrepreneurs were born with the thought that they will grow up and start something of their own. No, it is not. Some of them even had high paid jobs outside India, but what made them think to quit that job and start on their own? Without revealing too much of the story, I can say that story is capable to make the reader turn the pages of the book and also self-sufficient to boost your confidence if you ever dreamt of starting something on your own.
Quotes from the book:
Enterprises are born with aspirations of creating ripples of relations and emotions more than simply adding to the online clutter of commercial exchange. They stand as symbolic inspiration to people with dreams, and with ideas that are out of the box.
Sometimes it takes an opportunity to change your perspective towards life. Sometimes it takes a deep insight and sometimes a lot of experience before you can dive head long into creating a beginning. When all the three combines, however, it is most likely that a masterpiece is produced.
The world is full of enterprising spirits – women who balance their work life and family. But dynamic women who celebrate and embrace such challenges are rare.
The most difficult person to impress is you, and once you have managed to accomplish that, nothing can put you down!
You have to be persistent, keep taking small steps in the face of your challenges. Otherwise, all the effort would have been a waste.
My Verdict: 5/5
Author Prachi Garg has crafted and presented the story (based on true events) in such a manner that will keep the reader at the edge of their seat. The prime intention of the author that she wanted to inspire the young generations of our country by telling them the stories of women entrepreneurs so that they can contribute to the progress of the nation; is quite a successful attempt. It is a comprehensively good work
More About the Author: Prachi Garg is a true blue Mirandian, who is an entrepreneur herself. She co-founded Ghoomophiro.com. She has also authored the hot-selling books: Superwomen: Inspiring stories of 20 women entrepreneurs and SuperCouples: Inspiring stories of couple-preneurs.
Recommendations: I would like to recommend this book to young dreamers of our country.
Super Women is one book which precisely brings to you the events that has inspired not one but 20 of the brands being founded by women. Author has illustrated it so nicely that you will not feel bored reading it. The difficulties faced by these highly successful women and how they overcame it would serve as an inspiration for budding women entrepreneurs.
Some of the events mentioned in the book were touching. Few of them did this despite being a mother and had family and kids to take care of which is inspiring. A god attempt by the author to bring out the names which were always in the background and I feel it is the need of the hour.
The book is written in simple English yet the message is clear - Women Power
Uninspiring and terrible.
a) In each and every story in this book you see something like this
"I faced this i faced that because i am a woman"
"this country does not welcome woman in business"
Investors think only about profits not about gender. Well wishers always advice not to risk by doing business it has nothing to do with gender.
b) "Super" Women ? Really?
Most of them are seems had great financial support from their family. And they had encountered same problems faced by all startups.
c). Boring. It was re-reading same story with different name.
d) Free advertisement to those online platforms.
2. Packaging - 5/5
3. Book Quality - 3/5
4. Quality of printing - 3/5
