Winston Constantine runs the family empire that runs the city and Morellis are their enemies. He is the epitome of rough, cold, sophisticated, controlling and ruthless. Ash did a fatal mistake of slacking on her cleaning job of his office. And now Winston wants to play games with her. She has jobs to do and he will pay. The dirtier, the more debauched, the more depraved, higher the pay. But nobody actually can win in games of heart and the enemies are closing in.
Ok first of all, I still cannot believe my eyes that K. Webster wrote something so kinky! Yes I shouldn't be surprised but she did shock me! And that should tell you what is the level of perversion here. I was thinking "what's wrong with me? This is so embarrassing and wrong anc humiliating! Why am I turned on and fascinated by this alpha?" Because Winston is no prince charming. But he is a crooked fairy godfather. He is demanding and bossy and possesive and takes pleasure in torturing and hurting Ash in the most delicious ways. Like the hottest ways possible. Like the ways you cannot imagine. And I feel this whole game was so brilliant and mindblowing because Ash had a lot of power. She wasn't just giving in to his demands. She was claiming own pleasure and own place from him. Oh that's a heady intoxicating feel! The dynamics is crazy and just genius. You get an all powerful alpha into this little girl and he is trying hard to prove that he has no heart. But you can feel and relish in the fact that Ash has slowly clawed her way into his heart. The chemistry. The emotions. AND THE DRAMA. Oh the drama! K Webster has an evil mind and she decided to go for the kill and left me hanging in sobbing, crying, cursing state!
When I say you cannot miss Stroke of Midnight by K Webster, I mean it. Like your life depends on it. Because this is pure dark, sensual and twisted perfection. You will not read something like this in a long time. Well unless K Webster writes it.
I reviewed an early copy voluntarily
we have ash and winston constantine who meets under peculiar circumstances and strike a deal with negotiable costs!!
for every dollar earned, winston gets to degrade and humiliate ash, both of them using the other out of their own personal reason, things get complicated when the lines keep getting blurred and enemies are coming at it from different sides.
A fast well paced, dark, gritty and dirty start to another beautiful series.
Ash Elliott our modern day cinderella who has wicked stepsistersbrothers,a not so caring stepmother who her father happens to like a lot.Her father starts to use all of her college fund to impress her stepmother because of which she is forced to work as a cleaner and she is not a really good at her work, which in turn gains attention of Winston Constantine.
Winston is filthy rich,he has rules and expects everyone to follow it,he won't tolerate any insults towards Constantine name.He makes a deal with Ash ,she is the only one who seems to fit his needs and kink.I liked all his dirty talk.
Overall I enjoyed this book it is erotic and has the right amount of steam.
This is a dirty dirty book😏😏,if you are looking for something like that then this book is definitely for you. This book includes humiliation and name calling(nothing serious, just a kink),if you don't like such stuff then you have been warned.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**
If you guys love a book which just sucks you in till the end and gives you goosebumps, then this is so for you. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.
Oh my lanta!!! This book gave such a dirty, gritty, delicious twist to our childhood story of cinderella.
Winston is the dark prince...agreed but Ash is definitely not a push over...when someones pushes her, she push back harder.
Their chemistry was to die for...when they are in the same room...no doubt something forbidden and taboo will follow the scene shortly.
Although there was very little cinderella theme here but i could see the bits and pieces of it here and there. Like instead of two bully step sisters, We got three bully step brothers who were dangerous and so damn possesive of her...And I dont know why but the villain here, Scott one of the triplets...I liked his depravity , you can blame this to my twisted mind.
I was really really invested in the story and that cliffhanger ( A surprise for me I might add)
was a 10 on 10...It made our wait for book 2 such a torturous time.
A dark Cinderella Retelling with so much more complicated and addictive plot. I am utterly captivated by the chemistry, the connection and the execution of the story.

It comes with it’s very own kinky, foul mouthed, Maserati driving, total alpha-male Prince Charming complete with the obligatory multiple issues that seem to go hand in hand with being a billionaire. In fact Winston Constantine is the epitome of the anti-Prince Charming, a man who loves (or should that be lives) to humiliate women. Ash Elliott AKA the Cinders of this story is no simpering, wilting violet though and is more than capable of giving as good as she gets. The fact that she actually enjoys what Winston does to her changes it from humiliation or degradation to mere embarrassment, in my eyes at least, which made this easier for me to read. It’s clear that Winston does care about Ash even though he might not realise it yet. The chemistry between them is off the charts and their dialogue had me smiling in parts.
Every good fairytale merits an evil character and in this case we have an abundance – Ash’s depraved triplet stepbrothers who have their own nefarious plans for her and the Morellis - life time enemies of the Constantine family. Even Winston’s brother Perry who I’m on the fence about – he just seems to nice to be true. This book does end on a huge cliffhanger but fortunately the next book is scheduled for release on January 26th so not too long to wait to see if Cinderelliott has a fairy godmother to help her make it to the ball before the stroke of midnight.
Winston. Oh, Winston…
You had me at (I’ve caught the culprit. Now I’m going to make her pay.) All this outrage over a discarded candy wrapper!
There are no words to adequately express how fantastic this story is.
Winston is a dirty-talking dominant who will make your jaw drop.
Ash is unapologetically herself and takes on this powerhouse like nobody’s business.
The chemistry between Winston and Ash is off the charts.
This book is dark, dirty, and delicious.
It is captivating and will keep you hooked from start to finish.
