Assembly was easy, but I added additional 1/4 in. rubber spacers I had made because I was reluctant to overtighten the bolts and when they were snug the bars would slide with a light touch. It may have just been the design of our tv's mounting holes. They were raised a bit near the holes so there was less surface area for the bars so the metal washers weren't doing the job alone. Any rubber gasket material will do.
I'm not happy with the price. I paid $50 for the convenience, but you could probably find something similar at your hardware store for less. You would just need to paint it to match the powder coat finish. If you know a machinist or welder you could probably get something fabricated from his scraps.
Overall it fits our needs very well and the sound is better above the tv with the brackets, but I had to deduct a star because of the price. For 30 to 40 dollars people would be willing to purchase online.
I finally ordered it and I'm glad I did. Installation was a breeze. I went against the recommendation in the instructions and did not remove my tv from the wall mount. I removed one top screw, put in the mount, then added the second. (Removing the tv would have made this a major, multi-person, project.) It was extremely easy to level the soundbar and to center it over the tv. Once everything was just the way I wanted it, I just had to give a final turn to the mounting screws.
I've been very careful every time I've moved the tv on the mount and now feel comfortable that the soundbar is not going to fall.
If you are considering buying this, I recommend that you go to the company website, soundbarbrackets dot com. They have downloadable instructions as well as instructional videos.
