If you feel that the base is too strong, you are just not use to it. Other than full size speakers, many headphones and speakers can't handle the base and it will be attenuated anyway. This one lets the original base through. It may not be perfect, so old HIFI sound systems usually have an adjustable equalizer. Also, if you listen to youtube for example, it's likely the uploaders can't hear the base, don't care about it, and may screw it up during recording.
The headset is comfortable, very easy to adjust if you are sharing with kids with smaller heads. It will be more comfortable if the pads can turn horizontally or sideways while remaining securely on the head.
There's no problem pairing with Chromebooks. (For the mic I think you need beta channel.) It's great to be able to use as a wired headphone. If all else fails, you can just plug it into the headphone input of any device. So kids can use it. The operations are a bit complicated but I can't think of any way better. Pairing needs 7 sec on the single key. Power on for 3. Power off for 6. Then you may also need to be able to read the single LED indicator to verify the current mode.
The touch controls are useful but complicate things. Mute headphone volume with one touch, and change volume with wiping up or down. It works but can't be too fast or two slow. So if there's no sound from the headphone, it may be muted, powered off, BT disabled on the other side, pairing is lost, or you got the wrong pair.
Haven't tried the mic function or the phone functions. I'm not being seen with that in the car, and I don't think it's safe driving with that on. At home it's may be for someone who listens to music all the time in headphones but don't want to miss calls.
THE SOLUTION: Wireless headphones!!!!!!
THE CONSIDERATIONS: In-ear wireless headphones have that really dumb-looking part you have to wear around the neck and aren't comfortable for extended wear. Over-ear cans are great for home use, but too big for carrying everywhere. I wanted to have on-headphone controls so that I could keep my phone out of my hands, especially when at the gym or on the treadmill, or when commuting I can leave it in my bag. I also wanted to have a wired-option in case the battery died while I was out. I didn't want to spend too much money, but I wanted them to be comfortable and stylish. After reading a ton of reviews, I chose these soundbot headphones.
Fit: They fit my average-sized head well, they do not move around, even with running. I've worn them for up to 3 hours continuously without any discomfort. They cover is very soft and plush. They so far do not seem to be being damaged by sweat. I have 1/2" EAR GAUGE PLUGS and was concerned about them getting pressed into the back of my head and so far have had NO ISSUES with that at all. They're extremely comfortable.
Design: The touch-controls are awesome! touch the center to pause/play, swipe up or down to control the volume, two-finger swipe up or down to skip tracks. The power button and bluetooth connection button are easy to get to. They're adjustable enough to get a good fit, they fold nicely into their little pouch for putting away in my bag, and they're very sleek looking without big ugly logos. They look like I spent a whole lot more than $25 on them!!!
Performance: BATTERY LIFE is the most impressive!!!!! i was able to get through over a week of bus rides to/from work, walks to the bookstore, grocery shopping trips, etc without charging!!!! My only complaint here is that when the battery is running low, it starts to chirp very often. I'd prefer if it gave me a couple warnings and then just died, but instead, my headphones kept playing music for a 30 minute walk, but was chirping so often (every minute, I think) that I turned it off because it was too annoying. Bluetooth connection is reliable, only a couple of times have I heard a little skipping when the phone is at the bottom of my bag or on the floor (at the gym). I use NFC to connect them to my Galaxy S5 and they connect almost immediately everytime. Touch controls work every time, sometimes with a very slight delay when pausing/playing. The SOUND is the only area worth docking a star: like most low end headphones and speakers, they tend to sound overly deep, trying to give the impression of heavy bass that most non-audiophile listeners want to hear. I would prefer to have cleaner mids and highs balanced with as much low as the small speaker can provide, I know enough to understand that little cans can't sound like a subwoofer. Instead, they sound like your head is inside a can. BUT it hasn't been a big enough issue for me to return them. If I want amazing sound, I'll load up a record (vinyl!) onto my home hi-fi system. But if I want to listen to MP3s and podcasts while I shop for groceries without the stupid headphone cord tangling on my shopping bag, these are perfect. Another point worth mentioning, these are NOT NOISE CANCELING, nor are they INSULATING, that means that I can still hear a reasonable amount of ambient sound and if my volume is up very high, the person sitting next to me on the bus will hear my music. These don't sound great enough for me to want to blare them in my ears anyway, so this hasn't been an issue for me.
Overall for the price I got a great pair of wireless headphones.
I like that the volume can easily be adjusted by swiping a finger up or down on the left ear. But, I only bought these to use with Skype, and they don't seem to work well with it. I even did some research to see if there was anything I could do--such as not use other bluetooth devices at the same time. Even with other bluetooth devices turned off, I still have the same problem. I'm really disappointed they don't work for Skype because I like the look, liked the price, and they are easy to use--they just don't work well for my purpose. I wish I had returned them, but I waited too long, hoping I could get them to work. I'm looking for a new wireless set that works with Skype. Any suggestions?
