720p MP4 HD Movie ModeIn 720p MP4 movie mode, the DSC-H90 shoots 1280 x 720 high definition movies at 30 fps, a standard format when working with a PC. Users will create high quality movies with full use of optical zoom in files small enough to transfer to compatible PC or Mac computer. Once transferred to your computer and connected to the internet, you can effortlessly upload your media to popular photo and video-sharing websites such as Photobucket and YouTube.
Sweep Panorama mode-up to 360°Reach beyond the traditional wide angle lens, and capture more breathtaking shots with Sweep Panorama mode. Simply press the shutter button and sweep the camera in the desired direction and the camera continuously shoots at a high speed, then seamlessly stitches the images together with automatic position adjustment to create one stunning panoramic image. Available in wide and up to 360° full circle, the DSC-H90 can take a variety of panoramic shots. Now capturing wide landscapes is as easy as press and sweep.
16.1 Megapixel Image SensorA powerful 16.1 megapixel Super HAD CCD image sensor helps you capture gorgeous images with superb contrast and clarity down to the finest detail. With 16.1 megapixels, you can create stunning, photo-quality prints up to A3+ (33x48.26 cm) size, or crop your images and still come away with high resolution shots.
Optical SteadyShot image stabilizationOptical SteadyShot image stabilization uses a built-in gyro sensor to detect camera shake and automatically shifts the lens to help prevent blur without sacrificing image quality.
Intelligent Auto ModeUnlike traditional auto mode, Intelligent Auto (iAuto) mode thinks for you, recognizing scenes, lighting conditions, faces, and adjusts settings resulting in clear images, faces with natural skin tone and less blur. Take advantage of all the technology without leaving Auto mode. Kids on the playground, landscape shots, a beautiful flower or an indoor birthday party; all result in clear images without leaving auto mode.
Picture Effect for more expressive photos
Picture Effect adds a new level of expression to photos, making ordinary landscapes and portraits come to life by heightening mood and emphasizing certain attributes. Select camera models have up to nine different effects.
Photo CreativityPhoto Creativity allows you to fine-tune your exposure settings, such as brightness, colour, and vividness, and quickly choose the right enhancement for your subject. Now you can view Picture Effects and Photo Creativity effects in real time on the camera’s monitor or in the viewfinder before shooting.
Face Detection technology
Face Detection technology detects up to eight individual faces and adjusts focus, exposure, and white balance to help deliver crisp, properly lit images of family and friends.
Smile Shutter TechnologySmile Shutter technology captures a smile the moment it happens. Simply press the Smile Shutter button and the camera does the rest. You can also select adult and child priority and indicate the degree of Smile Detection sensitivity. Intelligent Scene Recognition can now be used together with Smile Shutter mode when the Intelligent Auto mode is on. This means that beautiful smiles can be captured with settings optimized for the particular scene, even in difficult conditions such as twilight and backlighting.
Anti-blink FunctionIt’s frustrating to capture the perfect shot, only to review it later and discover subjects blinked during the photo. The Anti-blink function works to help counter blinking and squinting. When the camera is set to Soft Snap, the Anti-blink function captures two images, recording only the photo with less squinting. If a blink is detected in other shooting modes, a warning will be displayed after you take the shot.
Soft Skin mode
Portrait subjects will love the results. Soft Skin mode recognizes skin tones and reduces the appearance of blemishes and wrinkles without affecting the rest of the shot.
Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) ModeIntelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN) Mode automatically detects 33 different types of scenes and selects the appropriate camera settings. In Auto Mode, the camera takes a single shot using the optimal settings. In Advanced Mode, the camera takes a photo with the optimal settings and, if in difficult lighting (low light or back light) immediately takes a second photo with another optimized setting so you can choose which to keep.
Conventional point-and-shoot camera flash shots just don't capture colours the way the eye sees them. Natural Flash mode takes a reference shot without flash and then uses that reference to correct the colour, for far more lifelike images.
Motion Detection, along with Face Motion Detection adjusts ISO sensitivity and increases the shutter speed when movement is detected, reducing blur in moving subjects and faces.

The camera itself has a tremendous amount of features, and takes very sharp pictures, even at extreme high zoom. The automatic setting is very clever, and makes smart decisions about lighting and flash--smarter than my 2-year-old Canon. Note: it's strange that a "force-flash" option is not allowed under full automatic mode, but hardly a deal-breaker as you can switch to partial-auto mode. The image stabilization is quite good.
The main con is the pop-up flash, which is annoying because my fingers tend to want to grip the camera there. Even 5 millimeters to the right and would have been no problem, but I suppose it was a compactness issue. The flash is quite powerful for a consumer camera.
Another silly issue is the included manual, which is horribly inadequate. Fortunately you can find a real manual online. The manual is needed because the camera has a lot of hidden complexity, especially if you want to use the top features.
Still, all and all, I'm quite happy with the value for the money, and to get 16x zoom in such a compact form.
It takes the most incredible images.
The optical zoom is great.
The digital zoom is beyond incredible (as far as I'm concerned.)
And the various modes this camera offers are pretty robust.
Taking a picture, is a one-shot deal. Meaning, if you're at a NASCAR event, you only get one shot of the cars going by. The photo processing to the memory card is frustratingly slow. (1 image per second is what it "cranks" out.)
You can turn off the flash, but you cannot force the flash to fire (in Automatic mode. But you can in "P" mode). I'm very dependent on fill light from the flash, so this pi**ed me off.
It's pretty compact and you will need to train yourself to not have your finger sitting over the pop-up flash.
It's slow to crank up, so not great for quickie pics. (Slower than I'm accustomed to)
There's no infinity setting.
But wow, the zoom feature and the amount of incredible levels of detail at super zoom is breath taking!
So it's a LOVE/sort of hate relationship, like dog training.
You may love dogs, and trying to train one to be "perfect" can drive you insane with frustration. But take the time to train with care and patience (No, not evil, brute force training), and it can be an incredibly rewarding relationship.

I'll probably be putting up a more lengthy review on my site sometime soon, with image examples.
Do not buy the bundle. Right on Amazon, a SONY case and a 24 G SD card is cheaper. This complements the camera. I like black but the red looks attractive. More later.
I have to add this:
I used it taking pictures of family in the pool. I used IA and then SCN, beach. Oh, boy, the pictures were extremely good; the water blue just like it was to the eye.
Yes the processing speed is slow but the captured pictures are crystal clear.
I tried the multiple shots and it worked like a charm. Every frame captured was clear and sharp, always remembering this is not the top of the line camera.
The night shots came out quite well.
I haven't tried the video functions yet.
So far this is turning out to be a great investment.
I just have problem transferring the pictures to my computer, once I installed Play Memories. Before that it was fine, going straight to my pictures file, like the old SONY.
I have to figure that one out.
