Ratings for cover page: *****
I found the cover page of this book to be very appealing and attractive, in tangent to its name. It made me inquisitive to know what is the story about. The story is about the protagonist Ishana, and how she took revenge on being called as a Slut, by those whom she gave her trust.
The author has described the plot very beautifully, and I was completely hooked up with the booked till I finish. It is a story with almost every masala added, but with a serious message.
A reader will truly enjoy reading the book at the same time a strong message is being delivered. Calling Slut to a girl, because she is beautiful and is a desire of many, in no means justified.
The story also reflects the role of raw parenting in defining the personality of a person. Ishana was suffereing due to ill treatment and greed of her own Mother, because of which she became rebellious and incomplete from within.
I have truly enjoyed reading The Slut Chronicles, betrayed, and would recommend it to all. It is a must read, a marvellous work of Kritika Sharma..
I would give ***** to the book.
I am loud, brash and opinionated but rarely judgemental, cause I believe no one has the right to judge any other human being if they haven't walked in the former's shoes and led their life. And slut shaming, oh wow! Those creepy people have their very special spot booked right next to Satan when time comes. *deep breath in and out *
I was very intrigued by the title and ended up giving it a read. I had to stop quite a number of times to drink water and cool myself but the girl from the book did me proud.
About the book- “What is love, if not a passionate heartbreak?” Nothing makes Ishana lose her facade except for the word ‘slut’. When someone slut shames her, she smashes his head and becomes headlines again.
She is at the apex of her career but people are not ready to accept her boldness. Her strengths force them to dwell on their own weaknesses. However what no one knows is that her road to success is full of treachery and emotional hell.
Join Ishana as she narrates her story to an oblivious journalist. It is a roller coaster ride full of love, passion, emotions, betrayal and ‘slut shame’. Are you ready to endure the truth of her life?
My take on the book-
Book 1 has raised my expectations to a level where I am waiting for the next one to come out like my life depends on it. Ishana can be any girl we know, hell it can even be one of us who have trusted our teenage crushes with our tender hearts and they all but trampled on it cause they weren't capable enough to handle precious heart cargo in the first place. I have also been in her friends' place and defended my friend's honor but honestly one thing I have learnt after seeing my friends' relationships and it's that if you don't wanna see the truth - no one can make you.
So needless to say I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the next one.
This book deserves a big 5 on 5 star and a pat on the back. You go girl!!!
It starts with a fashion show where a man tries to hire the supermodel Ishana for a night. She refuses, so he slut-shames her. Agitated by this action, she does something -totally expected from her POV – and becomes headlines again.
She then narrates her past to a journalist, Ravi and informs him why and how she gained a reputation of Slut. Though she is not one…
The book is very well narrated and all incidences are well placed.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book, and would recommend it to everybody who likes a good romance and thrill.
I started reading it without any expectations, but it turned out to be a nice surprise.
I was curious by the title and all the reviews I saw. And as I read through it, i realized what a book it is.
The title does justice 100% to the book. It is very apt, and just by looking you would feel that it might be erotic, but it is not and the title could not be better.
There is a big reason why the author has given the title 'the slut chronicles', and the reason is that it revolves around 'slut-shaming'. A big issue in today's scenario. When one wants to defame a girl, because she denies a man, they just give her various labels. This book talks and deals with this issue and it is very well explained.
The theme of the book is romantic thriller, and what a thrill it is. I couldn't put it down.
It is beautifully written and narrated.
I really loved the bond between Shiva and Ishana. BFFs forever.
Glad i picked up the book.
Everyone must read it.
