Product description

Review

'A beautiful new book. There are endless, brilliant unforgettable stories in The Sky Atlas. So poetic… full of maps and illustrations.' -- Cerys Matthews ― BBC Radio 6 Music

An incredible collection of cosmic maps, paintings and artefacts charting how we have imagined the heavens throughout history.’ ― Big Issue

'This exquisitely illustrated book features a millennia-spanning narrative that encompasses ancient mythology, philosophical cosmology and post-Copernican advancements in astronomy. Maps of earlier centuries are abuzz with fantastical creatures, the sun has a literal face, and the cosmic borderlands are rich with design flourishes. The book is a joy to flip through, every page a visual testament to cartographic artistry.' ― Wall Street Journal

This book blew my mind, the quality of the book both contents and production wise, 5 stars is not even enough. Production wise, the paper quality of the front cover makes the colors pop in the most special way, dont get me started on the contents since it gathers information from the earliest accounts.

2.0 out of 5 stars Damaged!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 October 2019
Opened the parcel to find there has obviously been a massive printing error. This item was supposed to be prime and took about 4 days to appear as they 'lost track' of my parcel. Now that it's arrived I can't be bothered to return it for a new one just to take just as long! Great book, unfortunately damaged.
