This is an amazing creation from Vivek Rao. A gripping crime thriller that, by any chance if you start reading, is impossible to let go till you have reached the last line! Apart from the fundamental ingredients of a mystery story (all those sophisticated plots, twists, turns, thrills and chills) which are available in plenty herein, there are a couple of other things that really appealed to me.
One, the beautiful description of Mumbai, its weather, and the different locations from far south, right up to the suburbs. These would fill any Mumbai-kar(ite) with so many warm and nostalgic feelings; that charm, variety, glamour, and above all, people, which make this city so unique.
The other striking feature was the realistic articulation of technical topics, which is also comprehensible and enjoyable to an average non-technical reader. The description of modus oprendi of terrorists, police and spies, high-tech security techniques, among others, is amazing. Clearly shows the amount of research that has gone through, across multiple areas of study.
Such books which provide instruction along with amusement, deserve special respect. The average Indian in his natural care-free attitude is so ignorant of key aspects of national security!
And there are other interesting encounters too, which gel very naturally with the storyline.
In summary, Highly Recommended!

Gripping !!
I loved his take on my city Mumbai. It felt so real and I could relate to the places and it was as if I was almost in the middle of the story. The plot and the tech stuff is interesting. The detailing of some of the scenes is mindblowing - the morgue scene was one of the hardest hitting. I felt that there was a little bit extra emotions! :-D But hey, this is a very very Indian book so emotions to banta hain na !It was a lovely read and I will recommend it to anyone looking for fast paced thriller! I hope to see more from the author soon.

A great story, expertly written with alternating timelines between chapters. This made me (first novel to do so) not only want to read the next chapter but hurry on to the one after the next as well! Absorbing plot, made more interesting with just right amount of description of events / people / surroundings. Having lived there for a few years, it was a pleasure to relive Mumbai through the sights and sounds of the city brought alive in pulsating fashion. Characters grew on me as the story progresses, till the end. An absorbing read, sure to send the adrenaline levels skyrocket. All the best to the author for releasing many more books.

Shot down is one book which keeps you turning pages until you read the climax.
In the beginning of the book you feel a little confused about the characters and later on you love how characters have been given a detailed role.
There's nothing to hate in this book.
The book keeps you hooked.
Waiting for more books by the author 😉

Good points :
- Slick plot
- Engrossing
- Tying up all loose ends while the mystery is being unraveled
- In depth research
- Most importantly, the book has ensured that “Religion Bias” is not there
- Kept me awake in the night to complete the book.
Didn't like :
Only one - Excessive usage of cuss words and profanities by most characters. This is my personal opinion. Some readers might actually like this.

I read this book, cover to cover in one go, I could just not put it down once I started. Crime thriller is not an easy genre and requires thorough research; I must say the author, Vivek Rao has done a fabulous job on that front. The book also hints at the idea that when security systems are compromised, it can lead to monumental disasters, the protagonist, Ajay does well to uncover truth & bring justice to his brother.
Loved this piece of fiction and really looking forward to the next book from this author!

Thrilling plot, great details, great writing! The story is told in two time frames- now and few months ago and every transition is a cliffhanger! I loved that style. Great work!!
