It's really incredible the cement fields vs the grass fields, the seriousness with which his youth games were taken at such a young age, the details of those games and cast of characters involved. The dynamics of being signed or lured by agents, time with Indipendente, Atletico and even the scene of Argentina's youth national teams, and ultimately City, a history he continues to write with his hat-trick against Bayern. Those goals, the QPR game winning goal, all make sense now in context of how Sergio approached these games even as a youngster. Insights into how he plays, even a battle with "disappearing" sometimes on the pitch and staying "in games." For die hard City fans there is so much about Sergio you do not know, and it's in this book. For sports fans or fans of Champions this book is a rare look at a life that was not caught on camera or that you followed, in contrast to say Michael Jordan or even Rafa Nadal which both have great books, but have been easy to watch during their careers ... if you are a City fan, you probably didn't follow him at Atletico, or at least not closely, not Independiente and absolutely not in his formative youth games.
This is an incredible book, Sergio is a superstar Born to Rise as the title implies, he keeps rising everyday and this book is written with as much class as he displays on the field.
