There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
The build feels solid on hands, definitely not a cheap feeling, it should physically last long upon care. Comfort is absolutely top notch, my ear just fit inside the ear cups and maybe a problem for large ears.
The bass is fast and punchy, unlike the bass heavy alternatives which are slow and fat sounding. There is sub bass rumble and punchy drums when it actually exists. Cleanest bass and its actually better thaan OneOdio Pro50, close to KZ ZST X.
Vocals is clear and crisp, distinguishable from the mix and good presence. Mids are clear, and actually detailed enough to notice minute sounds, better than OneOdio.
The treble is absolutely the best, this is a flat-warm sound signature and there is no sibilance whatsover. Its airy and just the best I have ever had, KZ ZST X sounds clearer in treble but has some sibilance beyond a volume but this headphone is just so pleasing to hear.
The cons I feel are spacial seperation which I feel is not very good in comparison to OneOdio, and I feel its the part where they have deliberately compromised. This headphone is not good enough for gaming. Another is its padding layer can peel off upon sweat and overuse, needs regular cleaning. This is probably best value for money headphone for those who enjoy pure and natural music.
The problem is that 5 6 kHz region dips and is immediately followed by peaks at 8 10 kHz giving it a strange sizzling sound. I wasnt interested in great bass or anything. Just wanted a good neutral sound. Unfortunately it fails and equaliser won't help, neither will the Sonarworks profile adjustment because of sample variation. Each headphone will sound slightly different so applying the sonarworks profile EQ actually makes the sound even stranger.
You'll read a lot of reviews that will say this is a great headphone for beginner audiophiles etc. Problem is that these guys go online searching for headphones, latch onto fancy terminologies used by other reviewers and use it ignorantly in their own reviews while not realizing that the product really sounds off. I won't judge them too harshly because unless you compare at least a few different headphones, earphones side by side it really is unlikely that you'll realize that something sounds wrong. I was happily using the Samsung in ear earphones that used to come with older smartphones thinking they sounded great. But after I started experimenting with an eq on my PC, reducing, increasing certain frequency bands, trying to judge which eq adjustment sounded better, I realized how much better they sounded after I found the proper eq adjustment. Now I feel shocked with the kind of sound I used to be satisfied with.
The point is, unless you currently only own really cheap earphone, the kind sold on trains or on the roadside for 100 bucks, you already own a device that you can equalize and experiment with to see if you manage better sound from the same earphone, headphone. I use APO Equaliser on my PC. It's free, try it out.
Also, apart from the frequency response, the treble is quite grainy but I was expecting that since these are budget headphones. Other problem is distortion. If someone with a particular voice shouts in a video this headphone will sound hazy and broken up.
If you are dead set on wanting to purchase headphones I recommend boat bass heads or even the bluetooth variants. They dont distort like the HD 206 and have a better bass and slightly better sound overall. They're frequency response isnt perfect either, but they are cheaper distort less and like I said above, use eq adjustments, find out which adjustments reduce sharpness etc. (Tip: reduce 4-6 kHz region using eq and reduce 80 to 200 Hz region for the wired boat bass heads)
EQing cheap products to get a decent frequency response is the real 1st step people interested in enjoying music should do rather that thinking that cheap variants from well established brands would provide an upgrade.
When I caught the reference headphone bug, that is, when I still used my Samsung earphones unequalized, I bought the Audio Technica ATH M20x after seeing so many good reviews. Same disappointment. Strange treble peak that made watching movies a punishment, too sharp, so I returned it. When I discovered rtings.com I check it's freq response and sure enough there was a big spike in the treble. All Audio Technica ATH M series headphones sound bad. See all of their frequency responses on rtings or even on Sonarworks they all have a bad upper bass hump and treble peaks around 10 kHz.
I recommend Oluvsgadgets and Metal571 on YouTube for reviews. Oluvsgadgets is really unique in that the person actually records the audio of speakers, headphones and allows us to to get an idea about the differences between 2 products and shares his opinion on which he feels sounds better, this is in contrast to other reviewers that simply talk about how they liked or disliked a product which is pointless as most will have a positive opinion on some really bad products. Highly recommend checking oluvsgadgets on YouTube.
Also, if you aren't bored already reading my rant, know this : "burn in" is bad concept. People think after some time of usage the sound of a headphone or speaker changes for the better. There is no real proof of this. You'll just find people writing lofty claims about how much better the sound gets after a week etc. There are quantitative studies. In fact, hilariously what does increase with usage is Harmonic distortion. Truth is, one gets used to the sound of a new headphone/ speaker. What sounded a bit alien the 1st time one hears a new product becomes familiar and comfortable after a while because we simply get used to the sound. So it's actually our comfort level and familiarization with the sound that makes it appear as though the sound has improved over week.
Lastly, be open to accepting the fact that the product you may think sounds good may not be so.
Do yourselves a favour and do see Oluvsgadgets on YouTube.

Apparently, for reasons I can't fathom, they've been discontinued, so I bought these instead as Amazon suggested them. They're such an inferior product, it's difficult to believe they're even from the same manufacturer. They're cheap-plastic flimsy, feeling like they'll just snap if you apply the slightest pressure. They're uncomfortable to wear for longer than about half an hour. The headphone cable seems bizarrely designed to press irritatingly into your neck. But worst of all, unforgivably, the sound is muffled and flat.
I thought I'd give them a day to see if I could get used to them but I lasted about two hours.
Absolute rubbish. Returned.

So I wanted light, small/on-ear, aptx low-latency, under £80 phones (of which there are surprisingly few available) with decent clarity and bass, and the HD 250BT's have just arrived on the market here in the UK - had to give them a go.
Sound is very decent, bass better than you might expect, and they are a simple, robust design (quite classy/minimalist looking IMO).
Negatives; once paired the LED goes out and you have no easy way of knowing if they're powered on, which means you'll be forgetting to switch them off and finding a flat battery next time you want to use them (and charging isn't fast -over 3 hours) - this is just a stupid over-sight.
"Up to 25 hours" battery life is rather optimistic- mine certainly don't go that long, maybe 20 hours, listening for 6-8 of those (the other two pairs of phones I own, both cheaper, are considerably better). I hope this doesn't get to be problem after they've been through a few hundred charging cycles. EDIT >> not even close to "25 hours", mine give 5-6 hours of actual play time (maybe 8-12 powered on but not playing) - I'm considering returning them as faulty.
Headband - not only is it un-padded, but amazingly the edges are very sharp which means you have to make sure you position it where it's flat against your head, or after a while - pain. I'm considering taking a file or stanley knife to it (once I'm sure they're OK and don't have to be returned). EDIT >> indeed, I've found that since they only rest on a small area of my skull an actual dent or weal forms after a couple of hours which really is painful - quite ridiculous. I've attached a strip of foam with double-sided tape to ameliorate this.
EDIT >> down to 3 stars from 4, but was considering even lower because of the very short battery life.

Having had my hands on them, I now understand. Sennheiser appears to have taken the approach of stripping anything unnecessary from the headphones other than great sounding drivers. The packaging is simple. The plastics are sturdy but basic. The adjustable headband works, but again feels like a bare minimum. Thankfully the headphones are very light, so the lack of padding on the band hasn't been an issue at all.
The earpads are comfortable and do a decent job at reducing outside noise (there's no active cancellation here). There's a well balanced clamping force when the headphones are on, they fell secure without pressing my ears too much.
Once the headphones are on it's clear to see why these have been reviewed well. They sound really nice. There's a similarity to the sound of the HD25, a typical Sennheise sound with a slight bass emphasis, though admittedly not quite as detailed as the pricier set.
They're genuinely fun headphones that have been a pleasure to use with any music I've thrown at them. I like that they are lightweight and feel durable, they make a great pair of headphones for the commute.
For the price I think they're a great buy.

It is lightweight but build quality is good for the price. I have used it for 4 hours+ without feeling much discomfort. It covers the ears and is fairly comfortable to wear. The sound quality is good having tested it across a wide range of genres.
The cable was a bit too long for me but for the price I shouldn't be complaining. Overall a great product that I would recommend to anyone looking to buy headphones on a budget.
