Absolutely brilliant effort by Somdip. His earlier illustrated book, "Lilavati", introduced the young and not-so young reader to the wonders of arithmetic and geometry of Bhāskarācārya.

This is the first of a six-part series on the great Hindu epic, Mahabharata.

This is a fantastic introduction to the epic for children, since it has got engaging graphics, descriptive text, and a style that will make children want to ask more questions. And therefore excellent for parents too, since it will make the children pull the parents into explaining the epic to them.

I look forward to the next five parts.

I really wish I was introduced to Mahabharata as a child in the way the author cum illustrator narrated this in this series. I am impressed with the combination of macro plot and the focus on the geographical aspects. The art is simplistic but the younger generation can connect with it very well. Would highly recommend this series for all those parents who want their kids to know about the great epic. Waiting for the series to come out in print.

Utterly brilliant. The visuals, the narration style, the colours...every frame is splendid. Every key story element is covered in an almost aphoristic style, with the visual and colour supplementing the words..or in some cases standing in stead of words. To be savoured multiple times. Do not miss.
