The only issue is it being a little sticky in hands and you have to wash your hands multiple time to clean it.

I'm a man with short to medium short hair.
Since it's been so difficult for me to figure out how to get texture and volume for my hair type I will share what works really well for me here.
I shampoo with Garnier Fructis Volume Extend..
I only wash 1-2 times per week.
Always blow dry. I want texture and volume so clean and conditioned seem to be the worst state for my hair to be in. A little damage helps actually.
Put on some American Crew Boost Powder which gives it texture and some hold on the volume but makes it a little frizzy.
So then I use a very very little bit of Sebastian Craft Clay Remoldable Matte Texturizer to then style it. This tub lasted me 3 years. It's a pain to wash off your fingers though.
The products don't completely wash out so it builds up over a few days which works to my advantage.
My hair looks great and is easily moldable to whatever look I'm going for.
If you're looking for clean, soft, flat hair this isn't the regiment for you.
Still going strong. My husband loves this hair clay and goes through a tub about every 3 months. I have no complaints about the smell and have not experienced any issues with residue being left on clothes/pillows/blankets/chairs/etc. I only wish there was a subscribe and save option or a discount for buying in bulk.
What I look for in a product is a matte finish and a reasonably strong hold without drying crunchy. This stuff delivers on all counts, though it will hold hair straight up only if you use a fair amount of it. When my hair is shorter, I tend to apply this product dry because it stays stickier that way. When my hair is longer, I tend to apply when my hair is damp because it results in a smoother look.
Only real downside is that this product is hard to get off of your hands and out of your hair. If you look at the ingredients, the first one is petrolatum (i.e. petroleum jelly) and another is "earth." So one way to think about this is that it really is clay -- it's kinda like Vaseline plus dirt. The petrolatum part is probably why it's hard to wash out. You really need a fair amount of shampoo, and sometimes I have to shampoo twice if I really want it all gone.
