But even for an experienced doctor in his "later" years this book may be a big pleasure and useful instrument.
Physical diagnosis was taught in my time in Holland in a reasonable practical way [the seventies] but afterwards it has been hard to find any book which would give practical relevant, clear information or it was burdened with extensive "useless" descriptions of heart sounds and such which nobody anyhow could distinguish[in a Primer of medicine M.H Papperworth describes this phenomena in a way cardiologists might not want to read about]
Other good books I came across are:
Rapid access guide by Donald W. Novey [not available anymore?],very short and practical! and recently : Atlas of adult physical diagnosis[Dale Berg and Katherine Worzala also an exception in this field, extremely clear and easier to handle then Sapira.
One never has to regret buying a good book in this field as -like homeopathy- it does not looses its value , whereas a new Harrison or so maybe a waste of money .............. a few years later one can spend money again.
