What is Soliaura tandoori masala made of?
Popular dishes at Indian restaurants in America include tandoori chicken and shrimp, which are typically marinated and seasoned using a spice mix and then cooked in a clay oven (a tandoor). Tandoori masala is an Indian spice blend consisting of a variety of spices; it will include cumin, coriander, and turmeric but can vary slightly from recipe to recipe, sometimes calling for the Indian seasoning blend garam masala. It is used to flavor many Indian dishes and provides a savory, aromatic, and lightly spicy flavor.
- Coriander and Cumin seeds
- Turmeric
- Whole cloves
- Cinnamon sticks
- Ground ginger
- Garlic powder
- Indian red chili powder
- Salt

Tandoori Chicken
- With a sharp knife make fine slits on pieces of chicken legs and breast (1 kg). Apply lime and salt.
- Keep for 15 mins.
- Mix 4 tsp ginger/garlic paste,
- 4 tsp Everest Tandoori Chicken Masala,
- 6 tbsp strained (thick) curd, salt and food-grade organse red colour.
- Marinate cut chicken with mixture.
- Keep aside for atleast 2 hrs.
- Apply 2 tsp melted butter on the marinated chicken and roast till well done.
- Once the chicken is roasted partly, turn on the grill for 5 minutes and grill the chicken until ready.
- That’s it! Your Tandoori Masala is ready. Serve hot with naan, salt and raita.

Tandoori Chicken Kebabs
- Combine yogurt, lemon zest and juice, tandoori spice blend (or curry powder), garlic, 1 tablespoon oil, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper in a medium bowl. Transfer 1/2 cup of the mixture to a small bowl and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Add chicken to the remaining yogurt mixture and stir to coat. Let marinate at room temperature for 20 minutes or refrigerate for up to 1 day.
- Preheat grill to high.
- Toss bell pepper and onion in a large bowl with the remaining 1 tablespoon oil and 1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper. Thread the marinated chicken, pepper and onion pieces alternately onto eight 10- to 12-inch skewers.
- Reduce grill heat to medium. Oil the grill rack (see Tip). Grill the skewers, turning once, until the chicken is cooked through and the vegetables are tender-crisp, 6 to 8 minutes per side. Serve with the reserved yogurt sauce for dipping.
