THIS THEOLOGICAL THRILLER, DISCUSSES THE POSSIBILITY OF JESUS SURVIVING THE CRUCIFICATION AND SPENDING THE REST OF HIS LIFE IN INDIA, AND ALSO HIS DYNASTY’S PRESENT STORY. THAT IS THE REASON BEHIND THE TITLE BEING “THE ROZABAL LINE”.
IN THIS STORY THERE IS A ASSASIN WHO IS ON A KILLING SPREE OF THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN THE IDEOLOGIES OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH AND ARE IN SEARCH OF THE ACTUAL TRUTH.
THERE IS AN ARMY OF 13 DEADLY TERRORISTS WHO ARE PLANNING SOMETHING REALLY FATAL.
THERE IS A HINDU ASTROLOGER WHO SPOTS APPROACHING DISASTER.
THERE IS AN AMERICAN PRIEST WHO HAS DISTURBING VISIONS OF HIS OTHER LIFES.
NOW, AS FOR HOW ALL THESE ARE CONNECTED, TO THE STORY OF JESUS SURVIVING THE CRUCIFICATION, OF HIM COMING TO INDIA AND LEAVING THE REST OF HIS LIFE HERE AND OF HIS DYNASTY , YOU WILL HAVE TO READ THE STORY.
The book started its journey well like every thriller and suspense books do. An innocent priest, a notorious assassin, a terrorist were there. Like many stories, a prediction that the end of World is near is made by an astrologer. An intelligence agency was introduced who will try to stop the approaching doomsday. But all of a sudden the author was linking so many narratives from early Christian, Hindu, Muslim texts and websites, mythologies, that the story lost its track. So many secret societies were introduced like Crux Decussata Permuta, Illuminati, Skull & Bones, Rozabal Tomb, Jesus's linking with Kashmir and Islam with some new terrorist groups like Lakhsar-e-Taiba & Jaish-e-Mohammed.
The author moved so many times from present to past and again to the past, it was very difficult to keep track of the story. Also, he used the concept of Past Life Regression Technique. According to the book, the human soul is never-ending, and so many people take so many births, and using the past life regression therapy all the past lives can be revealed. What the Hell!!!
Anyway, after finishing the book, I only want to say that I'm relieved that it has ended. But yes the book gave me so many information regarding some controversial topics that I would like to explore them. Mainly the author used the concept of "Jesus Lived in India" so many times, that I'm now interested to read the concept too.
Still, I'm not hopeless about the author and I would like to read his next set of books in the line :
I wanted to finish it at one go, over a night but could not. Yet i did finish reading it in a week's time. It was so intriguing. Jesus had a life after what we have known about him and he had travelled to Kashmir after he came alive. The storyline is so detailed and well researched that it appears as if it is actually the truth.
As it said it is highly complicated and more interlinking than Dab Brown's.
Usually takes up a slow pace at start because of the different font and different narrative style used. Regular readers find it's somewhat discomfort in the font used apart from this the book worth giving 4+stars.
The way Sanghi interlinked Hinduism-Islamic-Judaism/Christianity is stunning.
There r some part where the details are so clear and pure that leave me awestruck.
Actually at one point I was willing to drop the novel but one part changed my entire thinking. (The plot where a series of blasts happens is the turning point of my mood).
Many people call it as a Indian version of "The Davinci code". But according to me on the superficial view it looks like it, but if u go deeper and deeper u'll realize that the whole scene is different.
Another interesting thing about the book is that at the end the author listed so many references and website addressess that actually help the readers in accessory reading (I found it very useful!)
Became fan of Ashwin Sanghi!
