- new Opto-mechanical switches
- ambidextrous design
- 69 grams weight
- Braided and most flexible cable any mouse ever had
- Pixel precision with Razer 5G Sensor
Does anyone think it ticks all the boxes for any competitive e-sport mouse and a dream mouse for an enthusiast or a professional gamer. I am an enthusiast and I have used so many mouses starting with generic Dell mouse, generic microsoft mouse to Razer mamba wireless, Logitech hyperion fury (g402), Steelseries rival310, Razer Death Adder and finally Razer viper. So you can see I got some experience down the road of choosing a good mouse.
So far no one matched the speed of Razer vipers opto-mechanical switch and performance as it feels so controlled, no error in clicks as it has improved switch mechanics compared commonly used Omron switches in most high end gaming mouses. Over that Razer Viper have super light weight that is 69 grams which makes it in most agile category I mean the flick and tracking feels effortless in competitive fps games Like Quake Champions, CS:GO, Warface, PUBG, Rainbow Six: Seige, throw any FPS game Razer Viper shines. Button placements are also well designed to minimize errors for eg.: the dpi button is on the bottom unlike most mouse keeps it near left click or just behind scroll wheel which I felt most vulnerable place for accidental clicks. Its Ambidextrous design is well thought for giving the same experience to both left handed player and right handed alike due to the button placement of thumb buttons, and all the buttons give a satisfying click every time and button travel is perfect enough to avoid any error. To summarize I will give my opinions on pros and cons:
- Light Weight
- Precise and accurate sensor
- Revolutionary Opto-mechanical switches
- Very flexible and light cable
- Well thought Ambidextrous Design so both left handed and right handed can get the benefits of this
- Build Quality good enough to use it in ideal condition cant promise about the gamer's Rage effects on it, as I
don't rage :P
- Honestly till today since my purchace ie. 4 January 2020, I never had issues regarding any accidental clicks or pseudo clicks (you click once but it double clicks) which sometimes causes due to vibration after clicking in omron or any mechanical switches. But I will surely update if any problem persists at any point of time.
I would love to thank who all have read so for and its my honor to give my opinion on this particular mouse which is by far my favorite. I would blindly recommend this mouse to anyone who is looking forward for a mouse for gaming purpose especially competitive first person shooter. I promise to keep you guys updated about if anything changes in my opinion when it happens.
Till then Have fun gaming and please stay safe by not raging.
Thank you :)

I am a "semi" pro level Counter-strike: Global Offensive player, participating (and winning) competitions and have been using the Razer Naga Chroma (it's an old mouse that I have just gotten used to, the weight, the buttons ect).
I was in the market for a new mouse and saw this, out of the box, I wasn't so sure, going from a 154g mouse to a 69g mouse is a massive jump. and I really wasn't sure I would get on with it, but I was pleasantly surprised.
it is unbelievable, it has a really nice ergonomic grip, it glides ever so effortlessly on my mousepad. it took me a few weeks to adjust as I kept overflicking targets, but it has seriously improved my performance, it might sound stupid but the weight really does make a massive difference between speed of target selection.
it's a good, solid mouse, well worth the money
Trotzdem 4 Sterne Abzug.
Firstly I was having problems with the mouse freezing and lagging. I took some online advice and reinstalled the drivers, made sure they were updated, paired the mouse with my mousemat and still it was no better. I tried another mouse on the same game and had no problems at all.
My second issue was with macro buttons. I had no problems getting them programmed but they wouldn't work consistently for me.
The Viper is very comfortable and lightweight and the actual left and right buttons felt very positive to click and I'm sure they would last for a long time.
Unfortunately I returned the Viper and got a refund. I wouldn't be buying another one, or any other Razer mouse. I will stick with a cheaper, £20, Chinese branded gaming mouse I picked up from Amazon a few years ago, which I have had zero problems with.
I honestly don't feel the Viper is good value for money. Because it is so light I just wonder how sturdy it really is.
The Viper is light, looks decent, clean, very responsive and the glide on the mouse feels excellent. Never thought I'd be using a Razer product, hopefully more of this style to come.
Only downside for me is the side buttons don't come out much but that's just a preference and getting used to something.
The size, design and weight are perfect for my hands, and my 'finger tip' grip type.
However, the first mouse I received had a terrible wiggle on the left mouse button which resulted in a 'see-saw' effect when I moved my finger from left to right, and then right to left. Which became very annoying, so I asked for a replacement. The replacement arrived a couple of days later, and this one had no wiggle, but it had a physical double click effect, so I asked for another replacement. The third replacement arrived, and this one has a wiggle which is similar to the first mouse I had, but not as bad.
I decided to keep the third mouse because I can not be bothered asking for another replacement.
I shouldn't have to go through 3 or 4 mice, just to find one that is acceptable! Razer have some serious quality control issues. You may get lucky and receive a perfect one the first time!
It's great shape - fits in my hand perfectly.
It's really lightweight
The braided cable is very light and flexible - the mouse almost feels wireless using a bungee.
Very good scroll wheel.
It's perfect for FPS games.
My previous mouse was the SS Rival 600 - which was a great mouse, I really liked the shape..... But i needed something smaller & lighter with a similar shape/ergonomic feel - for me, the Razer Viper was a great choice.
One observation would be the right/left clicks feel a little mushy to me (compared to my previous mouse) it's sort of hard to describle.....but I don't think this is a bad thing. I distinctly remember the Deathadder having a similar feel in the clicks also - maybe just a Razer thing.
Die Maus ist m.M.n. ihr Geld wert, allerdings auch kein gamechanger den man sofort kaufen muss.
I used the viper mini and I was so much more dexterous. I could make tiny movements by pinching and flicking.
This is a great mouse but I went for a smaller mouse.
My hand is 19cm long and 10cm wide
I have other Razer products I'm very happy with (DeathAdder Chroma) but I just couldn't make this mouse work for me. I believe Razer, as a company, is a high quality outfit and this experience has not changed that.
What was my problem? Those 'extra' buttons on the 'wrong' side of the mouse!
This is a high quality product from a high quality company but *before* you click buy, remember that this is an AMBIDEXTROUS mouse.
MouseButton4 and MouseButton5 exist on BOTH sides of the mouse. For me, I found this intolerable, even after disabling the buttons, the constant clicking on the wrong was doing my swede in.
Obviously, I should have realised this before I hit buy but I don't know if this knowledge, alone, would have dissuaded the purchase.
Suffice to say, I will never buy another ambidextrous mouse.
Thanks again to Amazon and Razer for providing an exceptional customer experience.
Other than that, both the build quality and the sensor are great and tracking was amazing! The shape is pretty good for me (Fingertip grip) and the latency of the new switches is spot on. The cable is great, moves smoothly on my mousepad without feeling any drag and the feet were far from Hyperglides but were still okay.
Hopefully, the issue that I had is only on very few copies.
In summary if you really want this mouse buy it from razers website and not amazon
