The young male cat, Rakki, moved from Belgium to Friesland. He must get used to his new home. The people speak a foreign language and even the village cats' meows are different. As brave as he is, he still has trouble making friends. This story is about friendship, courage and animal-love. This exciting book is fun for your child to read, or, even better, to be read to by mom or dad. The story of Rakki, the brave cat, can be enjoyed by children as young as four, but also by children twelve and older! Each chapter has a colorful illustration made by the author in collaboration with Irene Bouwhuis. Since her early childhood, Anne Verbruggen has been a big animal lover. In addition to her house and garden, she also attends to two young goats, chickens, a cat named Rakker and a dog named Boefje. In early 2005, she moved with all her animals to Friesland, a blissful place in a village near the Wadden Sea. There she now lives together with her boyfriend. She is active in animal protection.
