आजकल हिन्दी साहित्य की माँग पहले से बहुत कम हो गयी है । हमारी रुची अंग्रेजी लेखन की ओर बढ़ने के कारण हिन्दी से हमारी दूरी बढ़ती जा रही है । कुछ दिनो पहले मुझे यह किताब पढ़ने का अवसर मिला । हालांकि शुरुआत मे एक झिझक सी महसूस हो रही थी कि ना जाने इतने दिनो बाद हिन्दी पढ़ने का अनुभव कैसा रहेगा । लेकिन मुझे यह कहते हुए बहुत खुशी हो रही है कि इस किताब को पढ़कर बहुत मज़ा आया और काफ़ी कुछ सिखने को भी मिला ।लेखक ने राहत इंदौरी कि जिवनी को बहुत ही सरल एंव सहज़ रुप से प्रकाशित किया है । बचपन से लेकर अभी तक उनके जिवन के हर छोटे से छोटे लमहो का सहजता से विवरण किया है । विशव प्रसिद्ध शायर होने से पहले राहत साहब एक कमाल के चित्रकार थे । बचपन से ही उन्होने बहुत संघर्षो का सामना किया है । उन्हे किताबो.से बहुत लगाव था । वह हमेशा कुछ नया सिखने के लिए तैयार रहते थे । अपनी महनत से राहत साहब इस मुकाम तक पहुचे है जहा सभी उनकी शायरी पढ़ने के अंदाज की प्रशंसा करते है । लेखक ने बहुत ही सरल भाषा का प्रयोग किया गया है । कुछ ज़गहो पर उर्दू शब्दो का भी प्रयोग किया गया है । इस किताब़ से राहत साहब के बारे मे काफ़ी कुछ पता चला और प्रेरणा भी मिली ।

Who didn't know Rahat indori, I'm a big fan of his gajal and shayaris do when I saw this book here i ordered right away. This book is an autobiography of Rahat sahab.His Sher and Shayri always about social issues and society or about politics. I always believe his Sher has as much powers that give life to a dead man. Book depicted his life through childhood to become Rahat Indori.

This book is slow read as early fifty pages is just talking about forefathers background of rahat indore sir, which for myself found it irrelevant author use anecdotes and with poetry in it is really good, later he add 12 of his poetry towards climax that's beautiful and highlight of the biography.
In between he talk about his life experience journey friendship, rivalry, his relationship with his teacher who take him to this life of poetry and ghazals, his journey in Bollywood films his nature towards subordinates and rivals, his presence on stage, his life style, his attitude on stage, try to bound audience to the program, his respect to his elder and love to subordinates and young once, his medical emergencies and his work ethics , his always being on stage and never let conversation die down, his hospitality towards friends and responsibilities towards family is all that make this book but over it's a slow read from readers point of view due to extreme usage of urdu and heavy dialect impression on reader make this book heavy to read and understand for readers but it's love for the rahat sir followers. A best tribute to a man with smile on face.
