Product description
This is a Wi-Fi solution based on IC ESP8266 from Espressif, great device to start work on IOT(Internet of things) ESP8266 is a highly integrated chip designed for the needs of a new connected world. It offers a complete and self-contained Wi-Fi networking solution, allowing it to either host the application or to offload all Wi-Fi networking functions from another application processor. ESP8266 has powerful on-board processing and storage capabilities that allow it to be integrated with the sensors and other application specific devices through its GPIOs with minimal development up-front and minimal loading during runtime. Its high degree of on-chip integration allows for minimal external circuitry and the entire solution, including front-end module, is designed to occupy minimal pieceB area.

- Reviewed in India on 17 August 2017Verified PurchaseGood Product .
I had a few problems for uploading my program onto it for the first time .. but then google helps .
If anyone else is having a problem a problem then the GPIO pin has to be made ground then reset then release them to enter flashing mode .
And through the pins are 5 V tolerant they are meant to work with 3.3 V ,so use them at 5 V at your own risk .
And the problem which i face often . Power Issue . The Module draws a lot of current , that why best is to use external source (with common ground very important) .
- Reviewed in India on 11 June 2021Verified PurchaseThe hardware is good enough to work but it should be noted the firmware is a bit old and it might cause some problems with WiFi connections and blynk. To check the firmware version please use AT commands (you will get many tutorials on youtube/google). It's recommended to update/flash the latest firmware for most efficiency (you will get many tutorials on youtube/google regarding Esp8266/01 Firware Flash).
- Reviewed in India on 29 October 2017Verified PurchaseThis is an ESP-01 module, running an ESP8266.
Can't believe how cheap this is. If you don't need serial, you can use 4 GPIOs. Range is good. The ESP8266 is powerful, and this module has plenty of RAM and ROM. Community support is really good.
It comes with the AT firmware, which I promptly replaced with the community Arduino version. Programming this thing is easy, and it can work either stand-alone or with an Arduino. Just remember to use a separate 3.3v power supply and a voltage divider/level shifter if using with 5v boards.
- Reviewed in India on 9 April 2019Verified PurchaseIt does bot get hot it dpesnot respond to at command you cannot aupload code to it so it does nothing atleast for me buy one and give yourself a try maybe it works for you maybe i am not that experienced
- Reviewed in India on 2 March 2018Verified PurchaseWorks fine, ping, WiFi, AT commands everything working.
but since it require 3.3volt supply, you will have to either use readymade adaptor which plugs in your PC's USB port or you need to use Arduino and use its 3.3v pin which becomes a little complicated for first time users, circuit diagram for using arduino is available at website teomaragakis. this board is using a old fireware that also needs to be updated.

- Reviewed in India on 13 August 2017Verified PurchaseIt works like a charm. It is known to be finicky about small voltage changes especially with the ch_pd that needs to be pulled up to 3.3V and maintaining a steady .7 amps current otherwise it resets or powers down. I know to get around it. A fine product considering it's only a couple of hundred bucks.
- Reviewed in India on 14 August 2016Verified Purchaseactually i wanted to give five stars for the product , but since it was delayed for quite a lot of days im giving it four stars .
before getting this wifi module make sure you have the following things (you know , so that you life is not a living hell!!!!!!!):
1) lm1117 3.3 v regulator 5 Pcs AMS1117 - 3.3V, 1A, Voltage Regulator SOT-223 : since the esp8266 runs on 3.3 v and the 3.3 v arduino line cant supply enough amps .
2) one 460 ohms and one 220 ohms resistor (or basical any resistors in 1:2 ration eg 1k and 2k 10k and 20 k etc ) 800 Pcs 40 Values Assorted Mixed Carbon film Resistors lot 5% 0.25W Resistor kit(meh!! works ... )
3)tons of jumper wires male , male to female (from the serial converter to the esp8266), and female to female etc .Jumper Wire - 20 Male to Male + 20 Female to Female + 20 Male to Female
4)male and female berg strips and General Purpose Printed Circuit Board . since the esp8266 is not breadboard friendly you will have to make a breadboard adapter COMPONENT7-General Purpose Printed Circuit Board-3 Pc + Female Berg strip-3Pc+ Male Berg strip-3Pc
5) usb to serial converter , this should have probably been on top of the list .i have have brought a lot of this devices all different types but the one that works for me is CH340G CH340 Serial Converter USB 2.0 To TTL 6PIN Module for PRO mini
- Reviewed in India on 19 May 2018Verified PurchaseReviewing after a month's usage. I tried programming the device thrice and failed each time. It doesn't even respond to AT commands in the serial monitor. Bought other products from Rees52 and was a happy customer till this but highly disappointed now. Regretting the purchase as I missed the return deadline as well.

Christopher J.Reviewed in the United States on 25 April 20255.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly on the Prusa Mini+
Verified PurchaseInstalled the board, updated the firmware on the Mini, and now I had Wifi capability. Easy to transfer files over to the Mini+ now via PrusaLink or PrusaConnect through Prusaslicer. Wish I'd bought one sooner, though really I don't know why the printer doesn't come with it in the first place.

BobReviewed in the United States on 13 October 20255.0 out of 5 stars successful install in Prusa MINI+
Verified PurchaseI installed this in my Prusa MINI+ running FW6.2.6. To activate a PrusaLink connection between my computer and printer I hand-entered the WiFi username and password using the printer's WiFi Wizard. Then, I typed the printer's IP address into my computer browser's command line, this opens PrusaLink. There, I entered the printer's username and password found in the printer's PrusaLink menu. When PrusaLink opens in the browser, simply drag a *. bgcode ready for printing into the File Upload field and it begins transferring to the printer. The printer asks if you want to print after the transfer is complete .
