Keeps my home safe. Love this HEPA filter, 2nd time purchase.

I have this filter and it has kept members of my family from getting sick when others in the household are ill. It also keeps other allergens like pet hair and dust at minimal levels. Excellent product by Levoit. Looks very nice as well and can tuck away into a corner! The filters are also affordable. Great way to maintain indoor air cleanliness and quality in your home, your workspace, or even while traveling.

3-Months Use Review
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 20 October 2018Colour: WhiteSize: 1 PackVerified Purchase
This is a review after three months use of this air-purifier.
When it was first out of the box and set up it seemed to make an instant difference - or atleast the fresh, clean smell from the activated charcoal component of the filter certainly gives that impression on first use.
What this small unit is up against: Neighbours who chain-smoke 24/7 (As a neighbour, when you smoke in "your" home you also smoke in "mine" because smoke spreads out and diffuses into everything nearby - even through small cracks in closed and doubled-glazed windows - if you smoke please consider your poor neighbours who may actually be suffering terribly), mould and microbes from neighbours whose place leaks into mine, other nasty air pollutants, road fumes, occasional cooking, dust, ect.
The first thing to realise is that this unit can only really cover a small area - maybe a small to medium-sized room, so a home-wide air pollution problem is beyond it's capacity. And as far as the size of each air-pollutant particle - some are simply too small for it to capture (I have previously used an ionizing air-purifier that is more effective overall as it claims to be able to capture air-pollution particles down to a smaller size through the air-ionizing part - but the amount however little, of ozone that it produced was enough to trigger airway inflammation and asthma, so unfortunately that model self-excluded itself).
PROS
It's small and lightweight and doesn't take up too much space - the size and shape of something like a small waste-paper basket.
It's controls are very simple and intuitive and very responsive to simply touching your finger to the control-face.
It's not too expensive (as long as it remains reasonably priced it's worth it).
It's quite quiet - but if you like absolute silence then it may distract you at full setting, on the other hand if you have noisy neighbours it may help to distract a little. I found it okay.
It seems to do something, which in a badly air-polluted home is still a help.
It has a blue night-light that has three settings: bright, dim, and off.
You can also switch off all of the function lights (if you need absolute darkness in the room), by simply pressing and holding the light-bulb button for three seconds, and then simply tap the light-bulb button to switch them back on if you want.
CONS
Although it's not too expensive it's still money and costs quite a lot.
The principle cost will be - as with all air purifiers - the replacement filters, and if the price climbs much then it doesn't become worth it, so it's price can easily make or break the deal.
The filters appear to lose their effectiveness in about a month here. I felt that at some point it wasn't helping at all and maybe even adding to the problems due to the filter being "full" and I imagined that being saturated past a certain amount it might even harbour mould or something (but this thought would be true of all filters and makes and models that I know of), and although I ran it for about 77 days, I think that it was doing at least something worthwhile for only about a month, this could possibly be stretched to six weeks but that would really be it - after that the filter needs changing, at least I found it so *see attached photos where I compare the filter used for 77 days to a brand new one unpacked and ready to go, also note that the outer filter (not pictured) was removed and washed and dried several times over that time as dust built up on it's surface turning it from black to grey*
Also the seal on the "old" filter seemed to shrink or something as I noticed a little gap between the outermost edge of the filter (which is ringed by some foam material to provide a snug-fit) and the inside-edge of the unit itself - I noticed it because of how snugly the new filter fit in as compared to how more easily the old filter came out - so perhaps the foam edge ringing the filters may shrink over time during use?
I sometimes noticed dust build-up all around it even when left on the top setting. However, I do not remember if this was also true before the month or six week mark.
It only covers a small area and it's air-flow is not very powerful.
Overall this unit started out struggling valiantly but relatively soon became overwhelmed.
I have been unsure if I would purchase this again, but at this time I think that I would, but only just. Ideally I would have two or maybe even three spread out and change the filters about every month. This does quickly become an expensive prospect so there's always that to think about as the bottom line.

Took a chance - Glad I did
Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on 17 July 2021Colour: WhiteSize: 1 PackVerified Purchase
I was never one to believe in air purifiers, but with all the dust, allergens, particles, and pet odors we have in the area, I took a chance based on many of the reviews here (and on YouTube).
The unit's box indicates it covers up to 129 ft2, so I placed it in one of the bedrooms to see how well it works, if at all. The room is 140 - 150 ft2. I was surprised at how well it does work., I can tell a big difference when going from this room to the next. Definitely worth it! Now looking to get the LV-H134 for the much larger room (hoping it goes on sale soon).
It's real easy to set up. Take it out of the box, flip it upside down, remove the filter cap at the bottom, take the filter out of the wrapping, put the filter back, and put the cap back. Yes, it's that simple. Flip it to right-side-up, plug it in and press the power button.
Nice nightlight if you need it and it has 3 speeds. Speed number 3 isn't quiet, but it's not unbearable. More like low white noise. When set to 3, you will not have to speak louder than normal. So honestly, it's not bad at all. I recommend speed 3 for the first 2-4 hours, then set it down to 2 and leave it alone from then on. Our unit is on 24/7. No complaints
The unit also has an indicator for when to change the filter. However, I plan on doing minor cleaning to it every 2-3 weeks just to get more efficiency from the filter before replacing it. The recommended average swap of filters is 6-8 months depending on usage and your area.
I was skeptical about the unit and now I find myself looking for deals on a much larger Levoit Air Purifier for a larger room. I was very pleasantly surprised at how well this unit works.
I recommend the product. Like anything else, if you take care of the unit, it will take care of you.

Does what it says in the tin (I think!)

I don’t know that I can actually review the air purifier and tell you 100% that it’s removing particles from the air - I’m not a scientist so don’t have access to equipment which could confirm that. What I do know is it makes a humming noise and you can feel the airflow. It could just be an expensive fan, but let me tell you about the difference it’s made to me...
I’ve suffered from allergies for most of my life. They’re not serious, so I’ve never found out exactly what causes the problem (pollen, dust, dog, smoke, all of the above?). They cause occasional wheezing, and frequent face/headaches due to inflamed sinuses, and I wake with a splitting face/headache pretty much every morning.
If I run this purifier in the bedroom overnight though, I wake up feeling fine. If I forget to turn it on before I go to sleep, I wake up in pain. It does hum, but not so much that it disturbs my sleep.
As I said, I can’t confirm 100% what the purifier is doing, but I can confirm that I believe it’s removing something from the air - it’s the only thing that’s ever made a difference to my allergies and works far better than antihistamines or a steroid nasal spray ever did. It’s wonderful to be pain free after so many years, and not have to set my alarm clock earlier than I need to, to allow time to sit and let painkillers work before I can start my day. The occasional wheezing has stopped too.
I’ve had the purifier for three years now (changed the filter once in that time) , and I genuinely don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say it’s been life changing for me. 100% recommended.
I’ve also just bought a second one, for our small person who suffers with mild asthma. Hopefully it’ll help them too.

Great product!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 23 October 2018Colour: WhiteSize: 1 PackVerified Purchase
Use it often, most days, for a bit. It's not like walking into a fresh spring field but it clears the air noticeably and I find it will reduce some odours and the air feels better for my lungs. I give the room a blast after using the vacuum cleaner which needs sorting it produces a horrible musty smell. I feel confident knowing it will deal with mould spores and other nasties. Room is about 15' x 15' x 15', it doesn't take long to process the air in the room on setting 2 or 3. Maybe an hour or two on setting 1. I balance off the speed setting with how quickly I want the room cleared and the volume of the fan. It's very loud on 3, 2 is okay for most daytime use, I can sleep with it on setting 1 but if I'm sleeping light I'd rather not. Not a problem as I'll use it before or after sleep if needed. Bought a spare filter as I've had it a while now about 6 months I guess, but the replacement indicator hasn't come on yet. Supposedly you should get 6 average months but based on the number of hours and my usage pattern I reckon my replacement will stay in the cupboard for a few more months yet! Maybe I'll update this review when that happens. It's well made, it's a very good price, the only negative or neutral is the bright blue LED light on the top, I suppose the design looks better for having it as even when off it looks better than a blank white plastic top, but the light is rarely turned on it's kind of pointless. Another thing is you can't put it on a wall timer, but I've not found that an issue in practice. Great product!
