NATIONAL BESTSELLER

“If you are a life hacker, this book is a keeper.” —Forbes

“Chris Bailey has tackled the daunting task of personally experimenting with any and every technique you can imagine that could positively affect your productivity. His dedication to the project and his intelligent conclusions, combined with his candor and articulateness, make this a fun, interesting, and useful read!” —David Allen, author of Getting Things Done

“Chris Bailey might be the most productive man you’d ever hope to meet.” —TED Blog

“Here’s a book that promises, in the title, to pay for itself. And, the truth is, it will, in just a few days. And you’ll even enjoy the journey.” Seth Godin, author of Linchpin

“Chris has written the ultimate guidebook for setting your life on fire. Read it, and you’ll not only get more done, you’ll feel better about it too.” Laura Vanderkam, author of I Know How She Does It

“So often we get stuck just doing what we have always done, even if it’s not really working. This book helps you cut through all the productivity advice out there to find and test what really works for you.” Shawn Achor, positive psychology researcher and New York Times bestselling author of The Happiness Advantage

The Productivity Project is well-written, fun, practical and useful all at the same time. I loved this book. It’s practical Buddhism at its best!” Marshall Goldsmith, bestselling author of TriggersMOJO and What Got You Here Won’t Get You There

“Chris doesn’t just want you to be more productive. He wants you to live a better life. This book is a two-hour ticket to not only becoming more productive, but becoming genuinely happier.” —Neil Pasricha, author of The Book of Awesome and The Happiness Equation

“[B]ecause of [Bailey’s] personal experiences, the book has a special appeal. . . . Although it’s about his personal odyssey, it’s really about you—and how you can accomplish more and be happier each day. . . . The year has started with a productivity bang, at least in books . . . All are excellent, but I would rate [The Productivity Project] the best if you had to read just one.” —The Globe and Mail

“My initial reaction was ‘A self-help book? Not for me.’ But it turns out, this book is for me—and you. . . . This funny read . . . will really get you thinking about how to make the most of your time and energy.” —Ottawa Magazine

“[E]very entrepreneur and professional I’ve met in business wants and needs to be more productive, but finding the approach that works for them can be elusive. I think you will find the techniques presented here well worth adding to your work ethic.” —Martin Zwilling, Forbes

“Straightforward and packed with practical tips, it’ll have you reevaluating how you spend your precious minutes.” —Vitamin Daily

“Bailey’s commitment to long form writing, analysis and experimenting with different approaches attracted my attention. His willingness to track results, numbers and share his findings reminds me of Tim Ferriss’s earlier work on productivity. The world needs more experimentation and validation for productivity ideas, so I hope Bailey continues his work. . . . Bailey does us a service when he reminds us that ‘common sense is not common practice.’” —Project Management Hacks (blog)

“Chris [Bailey] writes in an engaging way that really captured my attention. . . . He gives a lot of good insights that I think many students, young adults, and any career-minded person should read. Highly recommend!” —Petite Christine (blog)

Has some good gems such as "Working on your high impact work", Managing your attention and energy in addition to time, disconnecting from internet etc. However, heavily borrows from other methods such as "David Allen's Getting Things Done", "Tony Schwartz's Energy Project" and "Cal Newport's Deep Work", "Laura Vanderkam's tracking time" etc.

I was somehow not comfortable with Author's writing style which was mostly what he did as a project, while the challenges for the reader comes at the end of each chapter, it is too late after so many repetitive concepts. The whole book could have been cut in half without loss of materials.

Also, a lot of advice here is not practical for people in a developing country such as India, such as hiring a virtual assistant or declining low-value meetings, but it is understandable when we realize that this is a book written for Americans, not for international readers.

Definitely some great takeaways here, but they could have very well put in a long article, rather than a whole book.

If you have plenty of time, by all means, read it, but if you want to learn more about the concepts and implement them, go for "Getting Things Done", "The way we are working is not working", "The 7 habits of highly effective people".

I m shocked and glad simultaneously knowing i m the first to write a review for such a wonderful book. I ve been reading a lot of books about productivity lately bt none convinced me to write a review on amazon more than this one did. Its a wonderful book nodoubt. I m half way through this book in just a day. Its so interesting and well spaced that one wants to know the next productivity principle right away. The writer has very well covered all aspects of productivity ie time, energy and attention and had given ways to improve each. The language of the book is very straightforward and appealing n doesnt use unnecessary productivity jargons. The writer has experimented on all the productivity principles mentioned and hence every principle is practical to use. Its a must read for productivity freaks like me!

It's been 2 weeks since I have been applying the techniques mentioned in this book and I see results. I am sure in the upcoming few months, I would have gone far ahead that I am now.
I truly respect the author for the efforts he has taken. YES, TREMENDOUS EFFORTS TO FILTER AND SHOW THE MOST BEAUTIFUL TECHNIQUES WORKING TO ACCOMPLISH MORE.
I am accomplishing more, why? Because the author has provided a solution for everything like:
1. How to clear your mind to stay focused
2. How to keep attention highjackers(like your smartphones/internet) to the side
3. How to sleep better
4. How to have more energy with dieting and exercising
5. How to be mindful with meditation

Imagine, you are following all these, how good you would be!
But one thing: Invest in this book only if you have promised yourself that you are going to use these techniques for your good. Don't just read and keep the book to the side. Common guys, grab this book and let's make you better. Happy reading

Dear Reader, A practical approach DIY book, explaining various concepts of increasing productivity. Mr Chris Bailey has taken lots of pain to come up with suggestions for bringing about small changes in life that can give the reader gains of tremendous multitudes to better in one's chosen field of work & thus add value to one's life & contribute constructively to.the larger world. The style of presenting different approaches is very engaging & lucid. This book has helped me identify my time zones wherein I can take up jobs needing more focus & concentration. Though presented in a project style, the book strongly drives the importance of deliberate use of ingredients of productivity - time, attention & energy along with people or relationship factor to make oneself more effective. It's a very good book to get initiated in the habit of becoming more productive day by day. It does not talk any jargon a of productivity. Therefore, recommended for everyone at any stage in life. I personally liked it. Happy reading.
