They have such a complete sound hitting all the lows, mids & highs perfectly. volume is generally a bit lower than other headphones (~10%), but that can just be compensated for by bumping up the volume notch 1-2 clicks on your mp3 player. Nobody should listen at max volume anyway for fear of ear damage, so this isn't an important issue.
The big pads fit well right around my big ears, making them the most comfortable I've ever worn. They're not technically "noise cancelling" since they don't project the inverse wave, but they do a good job at muffling outside noise. I can barely hear cars driving down the street when wearing them.
The BEST part about these is using them as a headset for the iPhone. I use these for nearly every phone call I make and nobody has ever complained about call quality. The mic pics up my voice perfectly. Its really nice to hear someone in both ears rather than just one, leaving your hands free to do whatever else while on the phone, especially if you're gonna be talking for hours.
NOTE: While these headphones do claim to be "stretchy".... don't test it. I had the white ones for ~6mo before I accidentally snapped the top of them. Admittedly, I was being an idiot and making them near horizontal. They are flexible enough to bang around and put on, but don't push them to the limit or else you will snap them. I patched em up with tape, but they were less comfy, so I sprung for another set since they were cheap and TOTALLY WORTH IT!
I first used these with an iPod Touch and the cord controls worked fine with that, but the controls do not work with my iPhone 5.
As far as the sound goes, which is why you get a headset in the first place, is completely acceptable to me. I don't have a wide range of others to compare to, but the sound is clean and crisp with adequate bass response.
Perhaps the only thing I don't like so much is that the band sits right on your head and puts a flat spot in your hair (if you care about that at all).
All in all, a great product, very pleased.
The headband and the cable are very durable; however the ear pads were detached after some months of use.
Very tricky to change songs. The controller is too high up and on the left side so it has to be done by feel only
as the length of the cord from headphones to controller is too short to hold it where you can see it. Very hard to do with the left hand, unless you reach your
right arm over and also very hard to get the number of presses correct and in the right position.
