This just works as a blowdryer while you're combing. if you have curly hair then it won't really help however straightened hair can be easily maintained. Basically it doesn't substitute a hair straightening iron. Good quality product overall.
It's good for the ones who want to blowdryer their hair without hussle. Its not a straightner so dont confuse yourself. It just blow dries and the heat is also less.so yea i would recommend for those who love blowdried hair and the heat is also less. Doesn't suit to curly hair
It definitely do not fry your hair like straighteners and do not feel as heavy as blowdryers. It is combination of two and this is what makes it perfect for every "other" day use. I have frizzy dry wavy hair then too I love it. Put it on second heat setting, and you'll get the straight hair not poker straight silky shiny as we see on advertisements but manageable hair for sure. If you're worried about heat that'll burn your hair. Well , keep this device moving and do not keep it near scalp. I use it with heat protect-ant sometimes and 5 inch away from the scalp. Because my waves start forming on lower ends and I do not want heat to mess with hair growth.
I am extremely happy with Amazon, any product which is assured by Amazon reaches me by 2-3 days. Thank you Amazon. Now coming to Philips air straightner that i purchased, the product is more of a blowdryer than a hair straightner. Since i have already chemically straightned my hair, i am happy with this product .
I shouldn't actually be rating it low because I was aware of it's limitations. You will never end up with straight hair let alone poker straight hair. That's not what the product claims anyhow so can't really complain.Philips brand has loyalists and lives up to the quality. The use of word " styler' in the product description is incorrect. You can't style anything with this product.
usage: Air dry your hair to about 80% and then use this styler. You will have well groomed blow dried hair. I have fine brown shoulder length hair (medium volume) and its impossible to manage the bangs with this styler. No matter how much of hair serum I load up on , the frizz this styler leaves is annoying and I end up with limp hair. Also, after using it for about 4 months now, twice a week, my hair is drier and is showing signs of damage. I had better hair quality before this styler with Braun hair dryer. Most importantly, this styler is useless on longer, thicker hair (tried it on mom, sis and friends with different kinds of hair).. Won't recommend...
I have thin, wavy hair texture and this is a great alternative to using a straightener as it causes lesser damage and takes way lesser time to style. But that's just my opinion, I wouldn't recommend this to people with thick, very curly hair texture as it wouldn't give you the results you expect. This does NOT produce pin straight hair, just smooth and manageable half-straight hair which I prefer. Of course, you could get the same results with a good blowdryer and a large barrel ceramic brush, but this is much more easier to use. I'm not denying that it produces a little frizz like any other blowdryer you use to style with, but that can be taken care of by applying a little serum once you're done. Overall, this is a pretty decent alternative to a straightener if you don't expect pin straight hair and causes lesser damage and takes lesser time to set (15-20 mins for 60% wet, thin textured wavy waist length hair). I've tested it by styling one side and air drying the other side of my hair and noticed the difference so I feel it was worth it for my type of hair.
