The VIBE Go Gear has a sexy design, more so than even Apple (now getting shaggy old) iPod designs, gives me total touch control, and miracle, clearly names and subdirectory catagorizes all my mixed MP3 files. It put me back in control. The sound is exceptional, the size neither to small, nor too big, covers all my listening needs. Not overly big, pocket portable and, after Memorex, iPod, Sansa, and some other easy to damageable, touch screens, I'm happy to be back to sane listening enjoying mp3/aa files under complete control.
There is no need to download the Songbird program to add or delete music, this is all done very easily by hooking the player up to your computer and clicking and dragging files to the music folder on your player. To delete, simply click on the folders you wish to delete and click delete, it's that simple. That to me is a main reason I love this, I don't need to waste PC space with Itunes, which I never cared for anyway.
As the headline says, this is a fine player for the small price. Hundreds of songs, easy to use, good sound. Pay no attention to the other "reviewers" who try to steer you to a more expensive Sony, I guarantee you they work for Sony. This is a real bargain and I do not work for Phillips, I just want others in the market for a less expensive (and non-Apple option) to know that this player is just what they are looking for, as was I.
1. First the price is right, Compared to what ipod offers for similiar price point the Philips is a better value.
2. Screen is a good size, can see what songs playing or what playlist you want easily
3. Earphones fit well and the sound quality is good. Its loud enough without being turned all the way up.
4. Battery lasts a long time. Ive used it multiple times for 30-60 min clips and have yet to re charge.
5. Loading songs into it is easy. I dont even use the songbird that comes with it. I just plug it into my CPU or laptop and simply drag songs into media player and sync them up. Very easy.
The only thing I wish it had that it doesnt is more playlist options. It comes with 3 you can load. Not a major issue but would like more.
And like I said I havent used the video feature, so it may very well be poor quality
Overall if you are like me and just want music while you run, working out, do yard work, then this is for you. It is a simple, quality, music player for a good price.
