The author for me is the Indian answer to Paulo Coelho, for the ways he touches and throws a lot of light on the facts and truths of life. So yes be prepared as there is a lot of in depth views on our daily lives. The author for sure makes you think about a lot of things and I love how he, in simpler ways talks about a lot of relevant things and even showing you things in a different angle
While I am truly impressed by the overall theme and concept of the book, there are two things that bothered me in the book
The book as I mentioned is conveying a lot of facts about life but sometime the medium used for this seems to be failing at being apt for this. The book has a deer as its central character and the author uses the life and journey of a young fawn growing into its adulthood to tell all his thoughts and ideologies but sometimes hearing or listening to a fawn or a deer thinking such profound thoughts and having epiphanies parallel to human caliber or even much more than that, gets slightly indigestible. In short it gets sometimes hard to believe that it is a deer that is saying all these highly intellectual and spiritual thoughts. Then there is another point. In between the inner thoughts and ideologies, narration takes a little longer to come to conclusion and the pace does get a little slow in the middle of the book
For me personally, the book was a huge surprise as in spite of being philosophical, spiritual in nature, the book has a good moving story to it and doesn’t just comes down to conveying the author’s personal beliefs. The language quality and narration is nice and for the readers of likes of Coelho genres, this will be a great refreshing read
The story of Paradise Lost & Regained can be anticipated easily after reading few chapters of the book but the essence of this book doesn't lie in its story but lies in the beauty of writing it. This book lets you wander in a deer's life who wants to reason everything that is happening around him. He doesn't want to easily accept the old notions prevailing around him but want to experience on his own and then decide over it.
The narration of the book is lovely; you'll feel calm and often feels like smiling over it. Some of the events related to deer's life are extraordinarily beautiful. The one which I liked the most was her mothers mating with male deer. The beauty of description was utterly incredible.
Beauty of the book lies in beauty of author's way of writing the harmony of nature, the imagination of world from a Deer's eye, the struggle of living and dreams and hopes of life.
Now talking about the drawbacks. Well the book is pretty long, if the book was 40-50 pages shorter, it would have been much more interesting.
Overall, this is the book you should read to learn the power of keeping the grip over your audience by your writing style. And for readers, I would say there are very few books available in the Indian Market that directly touches the soul, this book is one of them.
First of all thanks For the autographed copy and sorry for late review...
To start with, what if i tell u that there is no female or male protagonist...but the main actor of this beautiful story is "A Deer"....No I'm not out of my mind thats the truth ...I being this crazy lover for romance genre this was a new taste to my reading buds n let me tell u i loved it to the core....
The narration of the book is simply mind blowing...you can actually feel all the emotions of "A Deer"...
Now i understood why The author was saying to read this one a bit slow because he want me to enjoy this one to the fullest and yes i thoroughly enjoyed this bouncy ride of This beautiful Deer...
Lesson learnt :-
-Life is a precious gift from nature which comes in a package that contains challenges and danger, but one must b courageous n responsible to extract the last drop of juice out of it...
-Bitter events may strike u at every point in ur life but to live a joyful and blissful life one should practise "Let go"
-Future is uncertain and unpredictable so why to waste ur days in worry or in depths of despair...
-The nature was beautifully explained from the deer point of view
- The small small quotes at the beginning of every chapters were very innovative and superb
-I salute authors imagination, i mean we can understand human beings emotions as they an communicate but explaining different emotions of an animal in such an amazing way is totally Outstanding...
I feel few chapters were stretched a bit...
P.S :-I would recommend all of u to read this "Hypnotic ride of A Deer"
Komal Priyani ❤️
