I am still giving this phone and the overall KX-TG65-- system five stars because it is the best I've had.
Easy to hook up/start up
Pretty good audio.
Ability to use headset (2.5mm)
Plug in any outlet (handsets) and you're good to go.
Great range and little to no interference.
Belt hook makes it handy.
Base unit has a good recorder but we use another wired one for that.
Caller ID with voice announcement (if desired)
Stated above about the speaker deactivated. Hope someone has the answer. I'm still looking. If I find a fix, upgrade to five stars.
Gave up on the issue of the 'missing' speaker, but because we like this system so much, I ordered two new handsets. Issue resolved. Still four stars.
For years, the call clarity of V-Tech phones kept my loyalty although the features got more and more annoying.
After a power failure during the middle of the night, starting all my cordless V-Tech phones beeping, and playing hide-and-go-seek with the phones at 2 a.m. I went shopping and decided on this one. The package I got came with 5 handsets and the base unit, and was upgradable.
I am very demanding on phones, and features, and was pleasantly surprised at not only how well these phones worked, but also the added functionality via features such as intercom, transferring calls, call-blocking, etc.
I've had this phone 'system' for a couple of years now, and I like it just as well now,as I did 2 years ago. I love it.
Recently, I needed to add another phone (for a total of 6 handsets), and if it suddenly quit tomorrow, I'd see if I could find this one again.
The calls are crystal clear, and the features are just great.
V-Tech will never be in my home, ever again.
Someone at Panasonic put some thought into what this phone should do, and not do. I couldn't be more happier with this model.
I purchased this Panasonic handset from Amazon as the Product Description on the website stated that it was for the KX-TG6500 Series. I received the handset quickly and was pleased with the speed of delivery. Unfortunately, it would not register with my older Panasonic KX-TG6502 base despite spending an hour trying multiple ways to do so. The box that the handset came in lists 35 KX-TG base units in the Compatibility Table starting with the lowest model number of KX-TG6511. To my surprise, the KX-TG6502 was not listed.
I wrote to Panasonic Support as I did not want to return the handset to Amazon if it was an error that I was doing. They wrote back to me within 24 hours that the only handset that would work with my base was the KXT-TGA650 unit. I had to return the unit to Amazon which was easy due to their excellent return policy and customer service. I just wanted to make potential buyers of this model handset aware of this one limitation in pairing to the older base units.
