About the Author
Ismita Tandon is an award-winning poet and author. She graduated from Sophia College, Ajmer and went on to pursue an MBA degree. Ismita has published three novels, one with Penguin and two with HarperCollins. She shares her poems regularly on her Facebook page, A Lesser Known Poet. She'd thought she was done writing books as her love for poetry far exceeded her desire to write. Her stint at the Om Swami ashram led her to lead a more spiritual life, compelling her to pen down this book. When not scribbling poems, she spends time with her black lab, Benoo, who much like Ismita, loves vegetarian food and a siesta. Swami Vidyananda Om grew up in Bangalore. After spending time at an ashram in Bangalore and in Rishikesh, he found his guru in Om Swami. Swami Vidyananda is Om Swami's foremost disciple and was initiated in the tradition of Sri Vidya. An unusually talented singer, Swami Vidyananda is devoted to Swamiji. He lives in Sri Badrika ashram in Himachal in the service of Sri Hari. Swami Vidyananda enjoys singing for Bhagwan and loves eggless cakes.

1.No fake guy leaves the life of a millionaire . 2. Look at the so called godmen and the fan following they have but swamiji's discourse been uploaded form past 5 yrs but the amount of views are more or less the same.
3.He doesn't advise you to follow him religiously .'DISCOVER YOUR OWN TRUTH ' as he says.
4.People need shortcuts so badly today....even to reach GOD.This is the very reason in my opinion that so many bogus gurus are flourishing.
5.His lessons are surprisingly simple...More practical aspects and less moral science. So on and so forth.
I don't know if i will be able to meet him or not but one thing i know is that he is a self realized soul and if you are a sincere seeker ...you can bank on his guidance.
For the ones who would read about Swamiji for the first time would get to know that the stuff they were brought up with - thinking whether what is explained in the scriptures does really happen or not, whether such sages really existed or not, I guess this book has opened a wonderful door for them. Just Enter and get absorbed !!
The only flip side ? In the beginning, as Swami Vidyananda also mentions, Swamiji could devote considerable time to devotees, after "If Truth be told" was released, the devotees got 5 min each, and with subsequent book releases (Wellness Sense, Kundalani, When All is not Well) the time as of now is 2 min.
With this book, it would be a miracle if Swamiji at least finds a MINUTE for each person visiting HIM at the Ashram.
That is because HE does not turn anyone away - even of somebody is associated with HIM for 4 -5 years, Swamiji still continues to give him/her HIS time.
Gratitude to Saadhvi ji & Swami Vidyananda ji.
I read his blogs regularly, read his books, knew very well that he had darshan of Mother Divine but never knew or thought that he might be as divine as the Mother Divine herself!
This book portrays the incidents very well, it was as if things come alive as you read! I laughed at the humorous incidents, cried during emotional ones!
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to know more Om Swami!
A little faith is advised for the reader otherwise it may all sound you as fiction.
"You see, the mother bird doesn't break the shell until the chick inside the egg is matured. The egg is hatched in the fullness of time. It is necessary to practice some spiritual discipline. The guru no doubt does everything for the disciple; but at the end he makes the disciple work a little himself. When cutting down a big tree, a man cuts almost through the trunk; then he stands aside for a moment, and the tree falls down with a crash."
The above quote from The Gospel of Ramakrishna aptly sum up what both the authors of this book have experienced and many more to experience with the passage of time under Swamiji's divine grace.
"Who are you?" is still not answered. This is good as it makes for us to individually discover him, and perhaps may we find ourselves as well in the process!
Few lines re the book and swamiji came to mind while writing this review:
A sea of compassion,
A tale of faith,
If you could believe and follow a little,
You shall receive his grace.
Swamiji's books have always acted as magnet on me, but everytime i came across this book on amazon, i got judgmental, and thought not to buy it, thinking that it would be a big big hype!!!
But after reading the pages of this beautiful creation, i realise how very small mind i have !
I can only say, i would have remained incomplete , had i not read this one.
My deepest regards to both of u Ismita and Swami Vivekanandaji, though i can say, Ishmita i am very fondly jealous of you, for you could spend so much time at Sri Badrika Ashram, and take divine blessings. How vividly and beautifully Ishmita has described Sri Hari in stone and flesh, both!! I Can not thank you both, enough, Ishmita, and Swami Vidyanandaji, for giving us all this opportunity to be near Swamiji, sitting in our own houses.
