Absolutely LOVED this charming piece of work!

“The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid.”
Northanger Abbey, Jane Austen
Seventeen year old Catherine, one of the 10 daughters of Morland family gets to visit Bath and live as a “heroine” of her own gothic romance fantasy and gets herself into embarrassing situations one after the other.
This is Austen’s satirical take on gothic fiction and a delicious one. I was pleasantly surprised with the parody-esque tone of the book and loved the beautifully flawed characters so much!
Packed with gentle criticism, subtle wit and spontaneous humour, I absolutely loved Austen’s effortless writing!
Had so many laugh-out-loud moments, I cannot not recommend this hilarious book enough.
