This is a name brand from Nikon that works. Imitations on this site are knock off of the real deal.
You can buy cheaper wireless remotes for your camera from 3rd party manufactures,
I did and after 4 months it died,
I then purchased this Nikon WR-10 solution. Reliability and dependability are hallmarks of Nikon equipment.
My only complaint is the hand transmitter is small, I wish it had a hook to attach it to my wrist or neck - I keep dropping it.
I use this when I need / require slower shutter speeds and my heavy hands need to be away from the camera to prevent shake; my photos are shown on my truetoad web site.
Recommended to anyone doing slower shutter speeds, HDR, or hands off camera shooting.
Here's an update. The WR-A10 adapter that connects to the 10 pin connector on some Nikon bodies is fragile. _Do not_ leave it screwed in when you put the camera away at the end of the shoot. If receiver can snag and break the adapter, which is non-sturdy plastic. Mine broke in less than a month.
I am still happy with the operation of the remote, it does everything I want.
