Camera is for beginner only. Good camera on this price. The problem I found is that blurring happens consistently. If you zoom anything then may be blur happened and after some time only the picture will show clearly. This is the only problem I found rather then everything is good.
This is a great camera if you know exactly what you are purchasing and how to adjust the settings to suit you. Out of the box.. Camera, 4 NiMH betteries, 16GB SD card, lens cap, usb cable, carrycase, HDMI cable... Set up is pretty simple. The 4 AA-NiMH batteries with charger make it a real bargain buy (It retails at an absurd INR 7,700). Don't leave the batteries in the camera for long periods of time as they can exude and damage the terminals. The Wi-fi is a good feature but works only with the Snapbridge phone App. You cannot transfer to PC via Wi-Fi. You first have to connect to Snapbridge through Bluetooth - be patient it takes a while. Only then can you connect with the camera wi-fi through Snapbridge. Do not attempt to connect with wifi through the phone's wifi, you can't and it can interfere with the Snapbridge wifi connection. (I did that, and the camera wifi got saved on the phones wifi settings and this prevented the Snapbridge from connecting to the camera wifi. Connection could be established only after the Nikon Service center tech pointed this out and the saved wifi was deleted). The wi-fi enabled remote zooming and clicking feature is snazzy and eliminates the need for a remote control to take selfies and surreptitious photos. The 20 GB storage on Nikon Cloud Space is a bonus. The 40x Zoom works while handheld due to the image stabilisation though images are not so crisp at higher zoom and focussing can be a issue unless you set up "center focus". The additional side zoom control and snap back button for focussing while zooming are a unique feature. The Macro gives a really close shot. Ergonomics are good and make for easy one handed shooting. Low light shooting is impressive for this class of camera. But if you are doing a lot of low light photography this is not for you. Scene options are good and are also customisable. 1080p video recording with zoom while recording make this camera worth having. The 22.5 mm wide angle makes for capturing a large area. The ability to edit the pictures on the camera before uploading them is a cool feature. The tilt able monitor makes for easier high and low angle photopraphy. When I got the camera the wifi was not being detected and the photo colours were too vivid. The service technician at the local Nikon service centre set this right by resetting to the factory settings. What really impressed me though was the good quality still photographs from a moving vehicle. All in all a great travel camera and real bargain at the price. Cons: Not being able to transfer photos to pc through WiFi Low flash range and no auto pop up flash Indoor photo colours more vivid than actual
I bought this camera mainly for the zoom, as no smartphone will bring up with a solution for zoom anytime soon. The 16mp images are simply fantastic, the details in it ,the clarity and the cameras ability to focus is just awesome. I usually go with the fully automatic mode as it delivers the best results and it's easy to use. I have to admit though the low light photography is below average in this camera. Low light pics tend to come out well but it's very noisy. The flash is very powerful enough to illuminat the scene as long as you are fine with the artificial light in pictures and limit to which the light can travel . Overall a great alternative to smartphone cameras that can't zoom and great daytime picturequality. Fantastic zoom capabilities , Mon photography is also possible. Also got a very good macro capability also. Don't expect dslr results.
Not a pro photographer. Bought this to use occasionally for family functions and stuffs. Picturequality and Image stabilization is not good. Should've spent 10 or 15k more and gone for DSLR, coz your phone's camera does this camera's work. Why to spend 15k for it.
