My main gripes are:
(1) Netgear provides no [concise] documentation for how to establish an IPSec VPN connection with an iOS device, particularly since the 4.x firmware seems to have broken this capability about a year ago. This used to work with the 3.x firmware, using instructions found in various forums, but no more.
(2) Documentation accompanying firmware updates seems not to be written by a native English speaker, which worries me about the oversight, quality control and security for U.S. customers.
EDIT: Finally, after some days of cumulative time trying to get IPSec VPN to work over iOS, I got it. So it works again, but what a fiasco the documentation is.
Downside is that this thing is one of the loudest and hottest netgear products I've ever seen. Perhaps set up too properly?
Needs to be put away in a dark cavern otherwise the engineers get cranky.
