All battery life claims are approximate and based on a mixed use profile (which includes both usage and standby time) under optimal network conditions. Actual battery performance will vary and depends on many factors including signal strength, network configuration, age of battery, operating temperature, features selected, device settings, and voice, data, and other application usage patterns. **Individual core processing speeds vary, and may not reach the maximum speed indicated

Make a Splash
Never let spills, splashes or a little rain get in your way. Moto G uses a water-repellent* coating to protect your phone inside and out. This advanced nano-coating technology creates a water repellent barrier to help protect against moderate exposure to water such as accidental spills, splashes or light rain.
Don’t jump through hoops to stay in the loop. Moto Display gives you a quick preview of notifications and updates, so you can see what’s going on without unlocking your phone.
With Moto Actions, your simple gestures make everyday interactions more convenient. Whether it’s a twist of your wrist to open the camera or chopping down twice to turn on the flashlight, you can use your favorite features without touching a button.
Twice as Nice
Having one phone doesn’t mean you have to stick to one plan. Or even one number. To help save money, Moto G automatically selects the best plan to use based on your call history. You can also manually switch between two plans to keep business and personal calls separate.

Top customer reviews
There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
I am updating this review because some customers are saying that this is a paid review.I am pretty sure they didn't read my review completely.
*I have clearly mentioned that it's plastic ,it have thick bezels like every other moto smartphone. But not everywhere needs a bezel less phone.
*The pre-installed amazon apps can't be removed. When you start the device, it does not ask you for your Gmail ID but your Amazon ID.(later u can add gmail).
*I don't know why users are comparing it with redmi or other lenovo devices.MOTOs come with near stock android and that's one of the major selling points of this device. Also by having stock android ,the UI is much smoother and usable(atleast for me). I also own a xiaomi smartphone ,Xiaomi MI5 which comes with beastly specs. But sadly the MIUI rom in it was below average ,very laggy, buggy etc etc. So now I use stock android in it,and its far better now.(I have mentioned that many times in xiaomi's forum ,but sadly all the miui fans and moderators commented rubbish. They can't except the fact that MIUI is a big time joke.)
*Of course there are devices which comes with better specs than this one at even affordable prices. But everyone should be aware that, having great specs doesn't necessarily makes a device super smooth.
*The Moto G5 is not a waterproof smartphone but is Water repellent as it comes with a nano-coating to protect it from splashes and spills
#Here are the features of Moto G5:
-3GB RAM ,16GB INTERNAL MEMORY(SUPPORTS MSD card)
-5inch Full HD display
-Latest Android 7.0 Nougat
-Snapdragon 430 chipset with 8 core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and Adreno 505 GPU.
-Dual Standby 4G and VOLTE support
-2800mAh removable battery
I saw a lot of people complaining about its heating issues. Despite having an entry level chipset ,it does get little warm at times. I am not sure what's causing the issue but I am positive that a software update can fix it, because other devices which are equipped when snap 430 doesn't get this warm.Anyway its not uncomfortable to use.
#The main difference between this phone and Moto G5 plus are :
Moto G5 plus comes with a better processor, better camera, better screen protection, more RAM(4GB version), and a slightly bigger display and battery. But hopefully Moto G5 costs 5K less than G5 plus .So with that cheap price tag it will surely attractive more and more users.
#WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF BUYING A MOTO SMARTPHONE?
-It's probably the stock Android .As it comes with the stock version of android ,updates will be rolled out much faster. Which means Moto smartphones will receive the upcoming android updates much faster than most smartphones (except the pixel and nexus).
-Also the UI is way cleaner and smoother to use.
#Anyway coming to the device itself.
BUILD QUALITY & DESIGN:
This isn’t completely made of metal as it may look in images. It's just the back center panel which uses metal ,everything else is plastic made. The back glass which protects the camera seems really tough. Front glass doesn’t come with any fancy protections like gorilla glass but I hope it will be resist scratches to some extent. Anyway buying a tempered glass would be a wise decision. There is a wide fingerprint sensor in front of the body, which surely is upgraded. This time they have made like Lenovo ZUK, so you can use it to perform all the actions that your capacitive buttons did.
Its called One Button Nav, turning the G5 Plus's fingerprint sensor into a mini track. Click on the sensor and take it home. Swipe from left to right to open the most recent application, and sliding from right to left allows you to return.
Nowadays most smartphone manufacturers are trying to increase the screen to body ratio but motos still comes with those beefy bezels.Anyway there is nothing bad in that.
It comes with water repellent nano coating ,Motorola says that doing so can prevent accidental spills, splashes or slight rain. However, it is "not designed to be submerged in water, or exposed to pressurized water or other liquids" and "not waterproof".
The screen is vibrant and crisp. It's just LCD and not AMOLED ,but trust me ,you gonna be just fine with it.
OS AND USER INTERFACE
It's extremely smooth to use ,animations looks good ,apps open quickly and offers a complete bug free experience. Till now I haven’t seen any app crash or so. Having an average chipset I thought that the performance will be poor but I still had hope ,because even the Mighty Nokia have used the same chipset in their Nokia 6 smartphone .Well after using it, I am happy to say that it's one of the best phones for daily usage.
Of Course, the gaming experience isn’t something to be praised ,its just ok. I mean you can play all the games available in playstore right now ,but the experience isn’t going to be as good as some other expensive smartphones.
I like Motorola phones for their fairly "pure" Android operating system and this phone continues the trend, with just a few utility apps that are actually useful and assist with the phone's functionality.
Also Motos are very famous for their gestures .You can search “Moto Gestures ” online to get an idea about it.The one that I like the most is ,You twist your wrist with both hands and quickly turn on the camera. I especially liked this when I wanted to take a quick snap.
It uses a 13MP back camera ,obviously some sony sensor (moto haven’t specified it).The camera on this phone seems to produce excellent photos: the focus is fast and accurate and the colours are accurate. It seems to handle low light levels well too. All in all, if you're looking for a mid-range phone with a decent camera, you can't go wrong with this.Of Course it isn’t as good as the bigger brother G5 plus’s camera. But for the price surely a good deal. The 5mp front camera’s Self-timer with wide-angle lens, is very suitable for shooting selfies. There are some fancy modes like beauty mode which makes your snaps much better .
This is where the real advantage of snapdragon 430 comes in ,as it is very battery efficient.I got 8+ hours of screen on time on the first day of usage, which is just amazing. I hope that I will last for about 1.5 days on a normal usage. The battery took about 1hr for 75% charge.
#Other Important things
-I tested it with reliance Jio ,and it supports VOLTE calling feature also.
-Sandisk Memory card works flawlessly.
-The music and audio played through the built-in speakers sound very delicate.
If you want a better camera then definitely look for Honor 6X or moto g5 plus. Otherwise even with a low end processor ,this is quite a capable phone.
Who should buy this phone?
-People those who need a smartphone for daily usage ,like calling, watching videos,Internet, social networking ,slight gaming ,video calling ,taking outdoor snaps and people those who prefer stock android experience.
Who shouldn’t buy it?
-People those who need a smartphone especially for heavy gaming ,and with a better camera should definitely stay away from this.
Overall ,I would give it a 8/10 rating.
Anyway, that’s it from my review,I hope It provided all the information for a wise and well Informed decision[...]
Thanks for reading!
Phone is crossing the above average temperature and also restarting the when the phone want to, so I contacted you customer service team they are disconnecting the calls without resolution , when I called yesterday they told me that technical department is working 10am to 10pm but so I called today at 8 pm and they told me that again the technical department is closed and when I am having a discussion with Manager or so called final point he disconnected my call.
I don't want to use moto again in my life because I missed so many bank transaction because of the restarting issues and I lost the trust on Amazon as well , I want to return the handset
Refund my money or I'll take any other phone by paying more.

The Moto G5 might not be a great step forward for the series aside from its new design style, but at a time when phones seems to be getting more expensive, it is great to see the G5 stay affordable without sacrificing any of the basics.
Sure, plenty of you might want to look at the slightly more expensive Moto G5 Plus, with its bigger screen, more powerful CPU and a better camera. But we’ll carry on recommending the Moto G series to friends out to free themselves from expensive contracts without spending a fortune on a SIM-free phone.
