1] The author shares encouraging stories of real life people - how they have gone to have fulfilling second careers. These second careers arose out of myriad of backings - your old hobby, intersection of your past experience and interest, etc etc.
2] There are 10 solid stories of individuals - and each of these chapters tie in with a bigger theme. The stories are active - start from the first sentence - no generic blah blah - and that is refreshing.
3] Then the last 3 chapters talk about MOOC - Massive Open Online Course - an excellent overview - front and back - of what goes in these courses. I found these insightful.
4] Another reviewer commented on the low quality of paper in the book - yes, the quality of paper could have been better, is just passable now.
A very good read - especially if you are looking to start again / second innings. [The author's earlier book - A Mind for Numbers - on effective study techniques - i think is supposedly targetted at students and all. This book is for life-long learning.]
Doesn't feel like new. Cover edges are damaged and looks dull. The overall feel doesn't give you the new book feeling.

Die Autorin kannte ich von zwei Moocs (online Kurse), aber die Bücher sind genauso (oder sogar besser) gut.
