ABOUT THE BOOK:-
I have just completed only 40% of the book but I cant' stop myself from reviewing it. Each line is so different from any of the texts I have read so far. I am reading it very slowly since it is not like any other book to be read and kept in the bookself, but this is a reference about 'meditation' which I require always near me during meditation as I am a starter. I may require it for next few years to even complete my initial stages as Swamiji said will require FEW THOUSANDS of hours. I am able to do just 1 hr of meditation in my busy schedule, but I will find some way to increase the time.
CONTENT OF THE BOOK:-
Swamiji has taken many stories and reference to aid us from various religious/spiritual texts to better explain his own experiences. I really love such way of explanation as an enlightened person like Swamiji shortens our time and energy to read and experience such unlimited knowledge base by yourself.
I had struggled before this in finding a text or guru who can clearly explain all the concepts and aspects of meditation but I only found quotes based on earlier texts, not the author's own experiences. This is a book where the author has not only practiced intense meditation but has also shared his experiences with us which is very rare now a days.
I will be updating this review once I finish the book .............
‘’Freedom is not a quest, it‘s a state ‘’
A Million Thoughts is an intimate and joyful journey of The Seeker guided at every step by The Divine Master Himself.
In today’s world everyone is talking about Meditation. Irrespective of age, sex or social status.
The modern day Seeker is definitely going to find answers to all his questions on meditation from this book. It is a carefully distilled version of all of Swamiji’s experiences on meditation and references taken from ancient texts.
‘’Meditation is going home. One will never feel tired as the journey is full of humor and tales. As Swamiji puts it ‘’Meditation may be hard but definitely it is not sad ‘’the simple narration and the scientific explanation will inspire anyone who reads it. Swamiji explains beautifully the four inevitable stages of mental stillness we have to go through before our mind becomes still like a placid lake. Different meditational techniques are explained so that one is flexible with the practice. ‘Self awareness journal’ and meditation journal’’ will help you keep track on your progress. Thank you Swamiji for bringing delight in our lives through your writings.
Happy Reading!! Jai Mata Di!!
