Product Description

Born between the early 1980s and 2000s, the millennials are the youngest (and on several occasions, the largest) generation at work today. In this first comprehensive book with discerning research, Subramanian Kalpathi turns the modern workplace on its head and asks pressing questions about what makes this raring-to-go generation tick.

With case studies of millennial organizations and interviews with over 100 achievers, The Millennials will give you an informed view of how the future will look by explaining the goals, motivations and dreams of the people who will run it.

Author has done a great work. As he rightly puts about this book "it’s a labor of love". The author does justice to the subject "Millennials" and stays focused. The organizations and incidents cited are recent and relevant. What differentiates the book from the plethora of literature already available are two:

Firstly, it has innumerable examples relating to Indian business environment – both famous and not so well known. It becomes important as the country probably has one of the largest numbers of millennials.

Secondly, the way author gets deeper into the thought process of a millennial and peels it layer by layer. Every chapter has snippets which a reader can relate to and it further strengthens the rationale that millennials needs to be nurtured differently.

If I were to sum up – Its a great read that brings out insights related to not just millennials but also human motivation, innovation & leadership. Worth your time.

If you work with or manage a team of millennials, I highly recommend this book to you. The Millennials offers sharp insights on how to motivate, empower and engage this generation effectively. The book presents well-researched case studies that span across diverse sectors and companies, and are seamlessly stitched together in a common narrative. The narration is simple, engaging and thought provoking. And I particularly enjoyed the chapter on the application of improv comedy to team building and collaboration.

There's so much literature available about millennials, but none before this book focussed on the Indian millennial diaspora. Crisp & insightful, this book is just what every business leader needs to read to get a grasp of what it takes to attract, engage and retain Indian millennials.
