Product Description

A new adventure by the author of The Targon Tales.
The deep space prospectors take the risks. The mighty Pendra Consortium reaps the profits. That's the way it is on the Hub, a crossroads to distant planets and limitless opportunity for mankind.

Pendra agent Laryn Ash is assigned to keep an eye on the crew, and especially the captain, of the prospector ship Nefer - not exactly the sort of career move she had in mind when she escaped the hardships of Earth's Restoration for a job on the Hub.

When two alien visitors hire the Nefer to find a long-lost migrant vessel, the crew discovers a distant world far more enigmatic and dangerous than the patrons who brought them there.
Their exploration uncovers secrets buried deep in Pendra's history that now threaten to destroy the humans who have made new homes on distant planets. As motives, stakes and alliances become clearer, Agent Ash starts to wonder on whose side she is fighting.

5.0 out of 5 stars A new universe from Chis Chris Rhere unique aliens great read! 18 November 2016
By Jim K - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I read my first Chris Rhere book because it was free, I read all the rest because they are fun and it is a pleasure to watch an author go from good to excellent. Metamorph as with all her books is a stand alone story with a satisfying ending that makes you want more without leaving you hanging. This is an entirely new universe from her excellent 'Targon Tales' series featuring unique, truly alien aliens. The plot is engrossing with lots of action and many twists. The characters are well developed and believable, their true natures are revealed throughout the story. They are easy to commiserate with or despise as the case may be. The scenes are very well described and vivid, it is easy to imagine myself there. I love the science, she makes believable and interesting extrapolations and explanations without letting it get in the way of the plot.

Chris has developed into an excellent writer and I can't wait to read what happens next. All in all a real page turner!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great space sagga 20 November 2016
By Jess&Jess - Published on Amazon.com

Great start to a new series. The prologue did nothing for me, frankly it was a bit contusing and a little too abstract. From chapter 1 on I couldn't put it down. Just like the main character it made me long for a space adventure. A few of the plot secrets were obvious and you had to wait for the characters to figure it out, but I would rather an author did that then hold everything tight until the end. Can't wait for the next!

Chris Reher does it agin a compelling read once started I could not put it down . He spins a tale that captivates ,amazes and leads you on page after page. Then at the end leaves multiple directions that the story can flow in to! Can't wait for the next installment.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 really good start to a new space opera series 28 November 2016
By Gilly - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
This book begins a new space opera series with many if the traditional elements: good and bad aliens, exploration, human frailties contrasting with heroic humans, semi super characters, and success well beyond the odds for it. There is some violence and a touch of language, but overall this should suit older teens and adults.

Loved the story, loved the characters. A gem of a space opera. I just recently "discovered" Chris Reher in a Sci-Fi book sweepstakes. So glad I did!
