The only thing to watch out for - and this is common to all books like this - is that because this is originally targeted at Indians, if you are raising your child outside of an Indian cultural context (like I am, living in New Zealand and I am not Indian myself), many of the words and pictures will be quite foreign. E.g., my child has never seen a pomegranate so if I say 'A se Anar' and point to the picture of the pomegranate, he won't understand at all. Same for mangos. And my child hasn't a clue what 'Eid' is, and has never seen a soldier (jawan) either. The list goes on: rishi, dhobi... But I would expect that in a Hindi book, and I will just use it as a teaching opportunity.
