An additional plus is that in spite of a sponsor of 'plastic sanitary pads' like Whisper/J&J (it's oh so 'non-green & non-eco-friendly' you see), the book does mention alternate eco-friendly options like commercially available cloth/flannel pads & even the DIY, made at home options i.e. repurposed domestic cloth, as is still used most commonly even today in Indian villages. Appreciate Menstrupedia's stretching so far.
Suggestion: Wish you had gone a step further and got a more Green & Eco-friendly sponsor like 'eco femme' instead - the book would then may also have helped solve the 'plastic disposal nightmare' that India will soon face in drastic proportions once all our villages also move to 'plastic pads', cheaply mass produced with chemical bleach et al!
Cons: Just one page of euphemistic education on 'how babies are produced', as you put it, is probably not good enough - any young girl who reads this book will come up with a lot of questions for sure, on that one page.
Suggestion: Probably it's not entirely in the scope of this book but a better job can be done on an at least a euphemistic explanation of human reproductive system basics. Or probably you could follow up with books on Reproductive system & health, and probably a bit around a euphemistic sex education too, next. We want young ladies not only to have a healthy period but also be aware of reproductive & social aspects, including the risks they face daily, what with the maniacs roaming today’s streets & people pushing for less parental controls & more 'free lives' - at least let them know the risks that lies ahead.
Again, price could have been lesser - currently priced at almost 10 times of what Indian graphic/comic books are priced at. Even if one considers the very high quality of the illustrations and script, this could come for less than 200rs. & with a sponsor like Whisper/J&J, with many of their Ads appearing as inserts and more importantly their brand finding mention in many pages of the book, you can really give the book at a very subsidized price.
Suggestion: Pl bring it down to affordable range so that the target customers are not just the tax paying / top 3% of India, but includes the broader middle class young girls too.
Recieved the book. The price seems too high for the product. A maximum of 200 can be bearable.
