Update.....It's very small and comes in a LOT of tiny little pieces, ok so its a bloks house so fair enough i will stop moaning about that part, the real frustration starts when you begin to assemble it, oh my ....if you even try to move it it falls apart, we as a team did almost finish one chunk of it we tried to move and it just crumbled apart, my girls gave up trying to put it together after about the 50th attempt it is NOT Lego it has no staying power, in theory its great but my daughters love of Barbie has diminished somewhat after her experience with this i made the mistake of getting her a whole bunch of the set too so now i have to figure out a way to make it a little playable otherwise i wasted a whole load of money, i think i'm going to try to glue the main body of the house together and just leave it so she can build the rooms ...see how that goes...if i have any luck i will post back.
Building quality-wise, I think it is slightly lower than Lego. It's probably not too significant but if you're a Lego fans and have built a lot of Lego sets, you would feel the difference. Compared to Legos, quite a lot of the pieces are premade (the bed, roof, bathtub, refrigerator, walls, etc.) so you don't really get too much building done. Almost all the stickers peeled off at the four edges after a while. I never had such problem with Lego's stickers. I am also missing 1 piece for the sofa, which is quite annoying.
My pet-peeve is how the three main blocks connect together with a small connector on the bottom; they don't stay connected. I have to repeatedly reconnect the three buildings together. Another one is that Barbie's hair don't stay put. They keep on falling off.
I do like how it's easy to move the rooms around and you can also pull out the rooms to play more easily. The completed building itself is very pretty and looked very furnished. Despite its shortcoming, I would definitely buy it again. My daughter loves it and it's definitely a great gift for little girls.
Quite challenging to assemble. Everything is separated into small plastic bags and not all parts are packaged together.
Plus, after assembling the mansion, it is still too small for kids to really be able to move the characters around..
I just don't think this item is worth the effort to assemble. As soon as I finished assembling it, I knew it was going to be difficult to use. And sure, enough my kids don't play with this toy as much as other similar play-houses I've purchased for them in the past.
My two girls (6, 4) both play with it very nicely. They make sure to keep the pieces together, they rearrange the rooms, and they have a blast with it. However, my son (2) climbs everything, and loves to get to this house and just destroy it. He loses all of the itty bitty pieces, he puts them in his mouth.....which of course makes me not ever want to get anything like this again.
